The NCAA announced today that they accepted Liberty's waiver to move up to FBS as an independent. This is a very interesting decision and could potentially open up the flood gates for teams moving up to the FBS as Liberty didn't meet all the requirements for FBS, specifically an FBS conference inviting you.

I wonder what they based their request for a waiver on? My guess would be they claimed religious discrimination after getting passed over so many times by FBS conferences. The NCAA wouldn't want to deal with the lawsuit that would come if they denied the waiver so they caved and allowed it. It's just a guess though.
