Looking over that the old D2 board, there was a comment by a WT poster that said "I have been told about half of last year's recruiting class decided to not return." That seemed like a really higher number to lose in a single year. I was curious if any of your guys that follow the roster closer than I do has any idea what our usually freshman to sophomore attrition rate usually is? similar question as you move up the years?
I remember both my last practice in High school and at ACU where they recognized the seniors and both times I was stunned how few seniors were actually left for the final practice as compared to how may guys started freshman year. I am thinking the attretion rate is probably much higher than I was thinking.

We have always lost a few to academics or discipline but the numbers are way up, I attribute this to a different set of coaches with a different style and a different culture.

Only 2 of 16 scholarship players have left from the 2017 class: Pace and Padgett

Guys that leave that early don't care enough about playing anymore football that they want to work at it.

Padgett may still be around trying to patch up his grades. He is enrolled for spring - of course that doesn't mean he is actually here. 13 of 18 scholarship recruits are still around from 2016. Does not include 2 JUCOs who never enrolled in the fall but does include Trevor Crain. That is not not as bad as it sounds on the D2 board.

I’m pretty sure attrition rates are higher on average.

Qualls could have been a star here. Dunn turned out to be lazy on the field and in the classroom. Yandell was not a D1 linebacker and wisely moved on. Craddock I don't actually know why he left. Cohea decided to go run track in Corpus Christi. I reckon that you don't really know what you've got until they show up.
