Today, Obi Oguh from Little Elm HS has indicated that he will attempt to walk on at ACU. Not sure if this is a PWO or not. He’s a good athlete, quick, and powerful (445 squat). Held a scholarship to McMurray and an academic scholarship to ACU. National Honor Society Student. Most of his HUDL tape is as a RB, but he has the quickness to play corner. But at 5’8 he’s looks a little undersized.
But if he’s coachable the quickness is there.

If he is truly strong, quick and coachable then hopefully he could find a spot some place on the team that he could shine.

For a 160 lb guy (that’s all I could find) he breaks a lot of tackles and runs to daylight. Plays a lot bigger than his size. www.hudl.com/profile/7528295/Obi-Oguh

Besides speed, he can change direction quickly and not afraid to block or tackle.

I visited with Carter Rhyne on campus today. Cattitude had mentioned him earlier this year as a possible walkon. Carter is here for his new student orientation. As far as a walk-on goes, he looks solid. His Klein Collins team was 10-2 and he was the starting QB. His numbers are not fantastic, but again, they are solid: 93-155 (60%) and 1571 yards. He also rushed for an additional 190 yards. He is listed as 6-0, 175; but I really thought he looked more like 6-1.
Another interesting stat I found on MaxPreps -- as soon as Football was over (they got knocked out in the 2nd round of the playoffs), he immediately moved over to basketball - not as common at the 6A level. Again, his numbers were not fantastic (5.9 ppg, 4.2 rbpg), but this is for a 6A school playing very high caliber ball. It would appear that he is an all-around athlete. He looks like a good walkon kid.

Thanks for the update, Trackfan. His Dad is a good friend of Jeff’s.

Bakersfield College OL Jaron Marshall has committed. He's listed at 6'3 290. A good addition to our deepening line. He has good size and seems to know his blocking schemes. He does a decent job of blocking defenders away from the plays. How quickly he picks up our schemes will be interesting. I see potential. I like the twitter action between him and Luke. I like seeing Luke taking his leadership even to recruits and already building rapport.

This fall or next? If this fall he looks like a redshirt.

This fall or next? If this fall he looks like a redshirt. I don't see him as a starter, but he would be able to fill in if needed with the 4 game rule even if RS; no?

This fall or next? If this fall he looks like a redshirt. Answered my own question. He’s a 2019 recruit with a redshirt year available.

Here are the names of players that ACU offered last year, they signed elsewhere, and have now entered the transfer portal-
WR DK Blaylock
LB Lazarus May
CB Xavier Player
S Koby Perry
I'm not sure we will have interest in going after any of these guys again, but it is interesting how quickly guys decide they no longer want to be in a given program

He's been offered by SFA (as of 11/7 with another visit 12/4) and UIW (10/30). His film is remarkable. He's in another league from most. I do think he's got a number of things going on in his personal and family life. Lazarus May was arrested with a teammate on Oct. 30 and subsequently kicked off the Tulsa team. Xavier Player had many offers and is the 13th-ranked corner in the portal, according to 247 Sports. Koby Perry came in with great accolades as a JUCO transfer to Troy, but things must not have worked out.
