A friend attended Wichita States 1st exhibition game and messaged me that Joe Pleasant looked really good. No surprise there, IMHO. We were very fortunate to have Brette Tanner as a recruiter who spotted a kid with incredible upside, a HC willing to take a chance and a kid willing to go to a small, West Texas church school to chase his dream. Nailing the FT’s to beat Texas also told Joe he was ready to go hone to finish his chase. More power him! Go Shockers!!

He’s so listed as a Jr on the WSU site. Looks like he’ll be taking advantage of the Covid year.

I'm not shocked either. He is going to do great things there just like he did here.

Joe has fallen on hard times at Wichita St. His production has been near non-existent in WSU's first part of the season even though he was a starter. He no longer starts and is playing very few minutes. This is really a shame to me. In Brette Tanner's scheme, Joe would always be scoring 12 points per game or more and sometimes much more and be an integral cog in this team. Sometimes the bright lights are not so bright when you look more closely. I hope he can get things turned around. The WSU coach speaks very highly of Joe's leadership but...
