I voted that we are MUCH better. Yes time will tell and yes, most of the transfers haven't produced much where they were. However, last year, we had too many guys that imo, were too much alike. Not very tall and not extremely fast. Now, you want fast guys, you have them- Johnson, Holman, Ballard, Scruggs, Catalon and Taylor. You want possession receivers, Clark, Golightly, Neece and Holman are your guys. You have guys with height, which always helps your QB. This might be the deepest position on the team. Hopefully they gel quickly with Mansell and the 2 new QB's. Again, time will tell, but I really like what we have here

Because of the unproven area of our transfers, I am still going with a little bit better. We are definitely deeper. We have better size and speed. We should be able to spread the field out better than we have in a while. Still, it's theoretical at this point.

I voted much better. With Kobe back we didn't really lose anyone and appeared to pick up some size and speed with the new guys.

Ok I'm going with "much better" since we have nearly all contributors back and we've added kids who on paper are better. When your leading receiver for several years was a walk-on you know our meter had to be pointing up. I don't know that I'd put Holman in the "speed" category but hope we have added speed. I think Clarke benefitted his 1st year because Fink was Anthony's top guy. He suffered when he was the #1 target. Maybe with the addition of other good targets Kobe can shine again. I also think that our receivers will improve if our QB's improve and their improvement will hinge on a better OL. Lots of moving parts need to come together.

I think we're better. This group should be able to stretch the field a little. Perhaps we'll see fewer drops too.

I say we are much better at WR. We are returning the top 4 receivers from 2021: Kobe Clark (64 catches for 741, which actually a much better average per catch than he had in his record-setting 2019); Davion Johnson (31 catches for 239 yards); Denver Holman (22 catches-338 yards); and Alex Spadone (12 catches for 227 yards for an average of almost 19 ypc -- leading the team in that category). Plus, Dax Neece (7 catches for 51 yards and a rep for blocking well outside) and Taelyn Williams (6 catches for 122 yards in the shortened 2020 season -- leading the team in ypc).
Then, you add Pat Ballard (6-2, 200); Zarak Scruggs (6-2, 205); Tristan Golightly (6-4. 212); Blayne Taylor (6-4, 205); and Kendall Catalon (6-2, 205). Most of them had little action at their previous schools, but that also describes LJ McConnell, who had 36 catches for ACU in 6 games in 2020.
As always, the performances of QB's and WR's will hinge on getting enough time to throw the ball and I am still worried about OL depth. BUT, it appears that ACU has some huge potential at WR for this season.

Kendall Catalon is 5'10" 180 trackfan, but the other additions add serious height. I'm wondering which of these additions might have a breakout year for us. I think with OC Lee's reputation for fast paced, pass first offenses, several guys have a chance to catch lots of passes. My vote is Scruggs but any of these guys could shine, especially Catalon. If Kobe were to get off to a good start, he could possibly have a great season. Who will be the difference maker at WR?

Looking at PWO wide receiver Harrison Foster from Sweetwater. If things don't work out at WR he was also all-district at SS and HUDL film shows some impressive defensive plays. If football doesn't work out he was a state qualifier in both 110 hurdles (finished 5th at Austin) and 300m hurdles (finished 2nd at Austin). Top student too.
