ACU wins 28-23. If we beat SFA we clinch the WAC.

Really solid way to finish the game. You knew Tarleton was gonna give it a go at the end and get some points, but did what we needed on the 2-point try, didn’t screw up the onside, and then ran it down their throat with quick hitting Banks after not running hardly at all the entire game.
I can’t remember seeing us finish games like this under Dorrel.

McIvor gutted it out with an arm that was definitely hurt. The receivers looked terrific. Defense woke up in the 2nd half -- again. The win was not flashy, but it WAS a win. With this 6th win, the team has already exceeded my expectations for the season.

After giving up 154 yds rushing in the 1st quarter, Tarleton only got 52 yds rushing in the last 3 quarters.

I never felt like I could relax until we got our final first down but we made the plays when we needed to. Golightly catch was huge! Not sure why Tarleton gave up on the run plays that were killing us in the first half. I'm sure we changed the D up some but they also seemed to quit even trying to run.

McIvor proved his worth tonight and Golightly and Clark are so exceptional. Can your two wide outs be the all-conference choices? The ground game at the end was such a relief. Thank you Wildcats.

It is so hard to win on the road. After a long trip last week and a tough game, it’s awfully good to get a win. This was a classic trap game. Says a lot about this team and this coaching staff. Worst case — WAC co-champs.

Also cool to see Mansell make some plays on D. Not a gimmick to have him play.

Attendance 9,359... For their most important game this year plus we had quite a few make the trip over. We had more at a game in Abilene than this. And they are talking about FBS??? Not yet I would think.

Great win last night. I was struck by our coaching staff’s ability to make halftime adjustments to stop Tarleton’s running game and the quality of our play calling throughout the game. We are taking advantage of the talent of all of our exceptional receivers and running backs. There is a huge difference in all of those areas from last year to this year. I can’t say enough about McIvor’s toughness in coming back while in obvious pain at the end to control our offense. Despite the two int’s, he stepped up to a new level of play. He had great protection from the offensive line all night.
The tv announcers gave credit to our players, team and fans, and specifically noted that ACU was a team with great talent and is on the rise.

One thing I was wrong about was saying the team with the least amounts of mistakes would win the game. We lost the turnover battle and FG battle and were close to even on the penalties. The difference maker was our explosive plays that we capitalized on. I agree with McIvor's toughness. Long struggled a little on his short fill in and we needed #1 to come back in and take charge. The only thing I was disappointed in was several players being lewd to the Plowboys immediately after the game. I realize they were amped up from the win and being heckled all night, but I thought our player culture was above that. Tarleton had me worried several times, but we adjusted and scratched through it. Time to put the game behind us and focus on Sam.

We missed one, they missed one.
