Terrible video camera angles for the ball game. Not able to see plays on the field. Great for balls and strikes but nothing else.

Yes indeed, bad camera work. Also, someone is not updating the TV count. One out when there are two, and the score was 1-2, but TV showed 1-0. We need to get the TV broadcasts improved.

Live stats has gone out on the softball game in San Antonio and I'm giving up on the streaming of the baseball game. Have to watch Riviera beat up the pros for a while.

Anderson comes in and throws strikes. I like that. Timely hitting, good pitching equals a 5-3 win for the Cats. Good start to the season.

Baseball looked very good in its opening game. I do wish the camera would view the field more often from behind the catcher since switching camera angle from behind the pitcher to where the ball is hit is too slow. The television broadcast really needs a lot of work. Let's hope for better video in the coming games or at least when we are traveling that our opponents do better than we are doing.

Baseball held Nevada off a couple of times and came back from a 2-0 deficit. Then, they held off a 9th inning rally to win game two 5-4.

Very nice opening day for the WildCats. Game one we gave up only 5 hits and 9 in game two, but equally impressive is zero errors for the day and we gave up only 3 walks in each game. Keep that up and we will have a nice season for sure.

Overall, not a bad start to the 2023 season to go 3-1 against Nevada. Nevada was 29-26 last year and 18-12 in Mountain West play. Hopefully the Cats just keep growing and getting better... Wed. will be huge, but OU already got upset by CBU 2-1 in that WAC series, so a win against the World series runner-up isn't out of the question.

A lot of pitchers got some work and you are right a 3-1 series win was not bad. I perceive that we'll be up and down for a while until our hitters get hot. Except for one pitch, Huffling did a great job in his 2 appearances. I like that he came in and threw strikes today. Looks like we got a good one in Logan Britt. Our outfield is really solid and Tatrow had a bad batting series. Ladusaw hit some right on the nose that he didn't get rewarded for. Infield had a great fielding series but struck out too much at the plate. Look for that to improve. Relievers need to come in and throw strikes but this was our first series of the year, so some needed work and growth for them. Could be a pretty good season.

We only had one glaring error that I saw attending the 7-3 victory today. It should have been 7-1 but a couple of times we bring in a new pitcher to start an inning, and what is the cardinal rule in this situation? There is only one, and that is do not walk the lead-off batter. I don't care if you have to lob it underhand, don't WALK the lead-off hitter. I have seen serious pitchers get pulled for such an error. I know I would have been. At least you have favorable odds if you get the ball over the plate. Twice we violated this rule, and it led to two runs rather quickly.
Got to talk to three Nevada fans who were knowledgeable about the game and they all complimented the Wildcats, saying we were a strong team. We are.

Maybe the best thing is four games into the year and no errors. That is great!

Camera work was much better for the Monday game. It was better. Still, there is not enough shown from behind the catcher, so you cannot see the location of the ball and the motion of runners. It is hard to do the quick changes of views, but I liked the zooming out more often. The announcers are learning but there is room to improve. For example, when a ball goes by the shortstop, they should not call him the second baseman -- the ball was between second and third. They are getting better and we do have a lot more views than last year. Oh, their volume is way to low. My TV shakes and my ears hurt when the production switches to something other than the game.

Ditto the sound. You know the announcers are novices when they say we are ahead by 3 points. I don't know if the students get a simple primer before doing a game but it ought to be said to the play by play guy; if you do the simple things right, like--announce the batter's name as he comes to bat, give his batting average, tell what position in the order he is batting, keep up with balls and strikes, tell how many outs there are and how many are on base--then all will be well. You don't have to talk all the time about other things and you don't have to respond each time the color guy makes a comment. Stay on point! Do they get a critique after a game so they can learn?

Something I would like to see is more diversity in the ACU centric ads. I know we are ACU TV, but I would like to know about all the great things going on at ACU. An outsider gets very little information about our dramatically rising university. For starters, why not review the US News and World Reports rankings?
