To me, the great thing about Payton's game vs Navy was that her aggressiveness opened up the court for multiple scorers. Her outside shot made it easier to get the ball to Martin inside and with Earle driving too, the court opened for Aspen and Payton. When you have a hot player, we are balanced enough for there to be multiple weapons. I hope this one game was a breakout for Hull and she can also become a player of the year. Anyone taking notice of how Julie is subbing so far this year?

What an impressive offensive 1st qtr. Hull with 15 points. Mayes came in and scored 4 points with a steal, an assist and a blockout. Emma Troxell 5 points. What a future!

49 point half but only a 4 pt lead. Hull has 22 points at half. Live stats missed Graham's 3 pointer in the 1st quarter and continues to be 3 points off.

What a show! Bella is 1 assist away from another triple double. Hull has 31 points. A 4 point halftime lead balloons to 26 points. Troxell and Graham give outstanding minutes. Fun team to watch.

What a great game! Excellent defense, rebounding and, obviously, shooting. Hull, amazing night. And a second straight triple double by Earle. Really good to see her playing at a high level. And a lot of support around them. This is going to be fun. May have to make a trip to Nac this weekend.

Hull-31, Earle-19, Graham off the bench with 11, Troxell off bench with 8, Mayes off the bench with 6 and another fr. recruit Wernli with 4. Martin and Traeger with tough defense. 94 pts total and again the whole roster played.

I did not watch much in Bonnie Buchanan's days, but Peyton Hull is maybe the best I've seen, and certainly the best freshman player. The ladies played really outstanding team basketball, setting each other up with good passes and unselfish decisions. Hull's pure 3 pointers are so remarkable that I am afraid things are unreal and she will revert to normal space-time, but then she does it again and again. Amazing. Keep it up Ladies, watching you play is just plain fun.

I'm not naive enough to think that either Payton or Bella can sustain this current trend for a full season but I will say that as long as Payton can continue to knock down shots, Bella will continue to get lots of assists. The player we really need (in addition to the aforementioned) is Addison Martin. Last year she found her groove later in the season and if she is a consistent 10 point scorer to add to Bella and Payton (and Aspen, who will get her points too) we'll be competitive. We really have some good bench scorers and role players to add to those starting. We'll continue to struggle with teams who have a taller center than we can put on the floor but with Meredith Mayes I feel a lot better about that position than I have since Shelstead left. And we have Aimee Flippen (6'4") coming in next year. Right now it looks like to me that the 4 freshmen recruits have added some fire to our upper class holdovers. This will be fun to watch.

I turned the TV from the UT mismatch to the ACU women's game -- ACU has turned the 6 point SFA lead into an ACU 4 point lead. The defense has looked good during this span. (I type too slow -- SFA just closed it to 2)

The ladies are playing well despite the scoring drought at the end of the half. We went on a run when Troxell came in. She is a hardnosed defender. Hull leads in scoring with 13. Martin is back on her game with 10 at the half.

Hard-nosed game with lots of contact -- making it a typical SFA game. One of the home announcers is a real "homer". Makes me appreciate the ACU announcers all the more, although I guess Zach C is nolonger in the rotation.
