Just for clarification: We made a donation to ACU athletics after June 1st and before we were called about renewing our reserved seat tickets for 2023. They are in the middle section, upper deck. Not sure of the section #. I just told them that I wanted to be as far from Jack Griggs as possible, The donation we previously made was in excess of $480. So we still have to make another donation to buy the tickets? Help an old man out here? I am obviously not up to speed on this. acusports.com/feature/TicketsThe chart is at the bottom of this website. The ticket premium has been considered a “donation” in past years, it either goes to the exceptional fund or general fund, I can’t remember which. I have received a tax notice at the end of the year including that amount. I am confident it is the case in ‘23. I am not sure about excess of $480, my donations have been less. When I renewed my season tickets, I got a statement that said the donation part is divided equally among all sports.

I was informed this morning that my previous donation did not count since it was directed to a particular sport and not the Wildcat club or general fund. Wish that I had been told that earlier. Doesn't create a lot of incentive to support ACU sports. Money might be better spent spending a month in Italy. p.s. I did not get any statement.

Every renewal notice I’ve gotten, written or email, has clearly stated the breakdown of the price. Donation + ticket price = season tickets.

Don't know if I ever received a written or email renewal notice. Could have. Don't recall seeing one. But at my advanced age and limited mental capacity I don't recall a lot of things. I did get a phone call and nothing was said about a donation even though I expressed surprise at the cost of the tickets. Let's win some football games. Not fun to drive to almost all of the games and lose. Looks like the Southern Utah game is the only "flying" game this year. Might be fun to drive one way and go to Monument Valley and the North rim of the Grand Canyon. Never been to the North rim. Have friends who have told us that it is worth the effort to see that view. Guess we could fly one way in or out of Vegas or Salt Lake. Monument Valley just fascinates me. Of course, I will do whatever my wife tells me to do.

"Not fun to drive to all games and lose." Wondering what team you are following. Our record last year was 7-4 with 3 loses by only 3 points (and we missed 2 FG's in 2 of those loses). I'd say a pretty good 1st season for this staff). Why not see the glass as 3/4 full instead of 1/4 empty?

I had some flashbacks driving to Stephenville last Fall, but it was definitely worth it... So was Nac, even though we lost. Both of those are always wild games and the crowd gets loud on both sides.

Looking forward to this year. I was talking about the past 10-15 years. Since we live in the DFW area they are all road games for us. I like to win. Just saying that it is not fun to lose after driving to the games, especially those that we have a very good chance of winning. Of course we didn't expect ti win at Fresno, Colorado State, Air Force, New Mexico, UTEP, UNT, SMU. Baylor, Miss. State, Mizzou, etc. It's just more fun to win and see the players, coaches, and families smiling and happy. That's all that I meant. BTW, the glass is 80% full IMHO.
