I can't say that ACU's sweep at the hands of GCU is a big surprise -- GCU is ranked #2 in the conference in the RPI standings and ACU is ranked #7. The 'Cats have been ranked as high as #4, but that disastrous 5 game losing streak dropped us almost 80 spots in the RPI.
Here are the current rankings for WAC schools: SFA-#46; GCU-#101, UTRGV-#130, UTA-#140, UVU-#172, CBU-#194, ACU-#219, UT-#222, Tarleton-#244, Seattle-#262, and Southern Utah-#271. That come-from-behind win over CBU 2 nights ago might well be the difference maker for the 'Cats squeezing into the tourney. The biggest disappointment on the season is getting whipped by a Seattle team that is just not very good.
This week sees the 'Cats having to go to Edinburg for a single game against UTRGV (who has no travel partner in the conference -- if UIW hadn't stiffed the WAC at the last moment, a San Antonio-Edinburg weekend trip would be much more palatable.)The Vaqueros are pretty tough. It may well come down to a home game against Tarleton -- who always plays above their head against ACU. Still, hoping that ACU squeezes into the tourney. Outside SFA, who is clearly the class of the conference, and GCU, ACU has the ability to play with any of the other teams who will qualify.

Looks like volleyball picked up a great transfer, 6'4" middle blocker Sasha Stotler from Rutgers. Redshirt sophomore.
