ACU Sports has released the 2014 baseball schedule. We play an amazing AWAY schedule against the likes of Arizona State, Arizona, Oklahoma and other powers. The Home schedule is disappointing. Not a marquee name in site. It's hard to get excited about a steady diet of three game series against Arlington Baptist and such. The volleyball schedule is an example of the kind of schedule I had hoped to see for other so-called minor sports--OOC games against some D2 and FCS opponents with an occasional Texas Tech thrown in to add some excitement. In many other sports not named football our peers in the Southland manage to work in an occasional game versus a name opponent, just as we did in volleyball. Sam Houston played Baylor at home in baseball, for example. Going forward, I'd hope we can pull off an occasional home game against a TCU, A&M, or Oklahoma. Ok, enough moaning. To end on a positive note.... The Cats do play an ambitious schedule against some of the best of the best that college ball has to offer. That's got to help us as we lay the foundation for the future. acusports.com/news/2013/9/11/BB_0911133856.aspx

I am looking forward to baseball. Coach B will do what it takes to get the Cats ready for D1. Games against Arizona and Arizona State at the end of the season should be a real challenge.
