Oscar, it has to be grades. Logan is a 3-star recruit according to 247. Rarely will a player go the JUCO route when they are rated that high As far as this class, at the moment I would say no. Now, I am not trying to say the staff hasn't added some solid players; I think they have. DE Bradley could be really, really good. So too could OL J. Andrews. I really like what I saw on tape of S Dillingham and LB Coheley. The truth is, we clearly did not have enough talent on either side of the ball last year. OL has lost 3-4 starters. Losing Gibbens is significant. I actually think last year's class showed some promise. QB Earle RB Dobbins WR D. Lewis OL Howerton OL Burke OL Smith DE D. Hart DT Lozano CB Satterfield S Stokes The staff is casting a wide net for players. There are some high school players that they have been after for months that they are hoping to close the deal on. There are also several impact transfers that we are in deep contact with. We need impact players at WR, OL, DE and LB. I would also say we need to add depth at TE, CB and S. That would have been my thought as well. Right now it looks like we lost more talent to graduation and the cursed portal than we gained. Hoping for a strong close.

We need more WOW! recruits this year to match and surpass what we've lost. Maybe they are coming!

I vote for late minute WOW or WOWS, that we can use quickly to fill our voids that will STAY with us!

The thought of us moving to fbs is scary. We aren’t even close to being a southland leader and I’m not seeing anything exciting happening with the program to prove otherwise. The lack of development concerns me. Undersized players that are to help with speed but it seems our undersized guys aren’t any faster than the bigger competition. Lineman that are slight but tall to build into their frame. Still waiting in so many areas.

Wildcatter, I am with you -- a move to FBS in the next decade simply does not make sense in an age of belt-tightening budgets. Our athletic budget is pretty healthy for a D-2 school. We are on the low end for an FCS school. It would be rock-bottom for an FBS school. I just don't see it.

FBS is not going to happen. It's someone's pipe dream. We can't put 8K in the stands and as we keep on losing the more interest will be lost. Not enough money to complete our original stadium plans and now we've lost numerous starters to the transfer portal (and otherwise). We're having to rebuild our OL as well as several other positions. I'm really pretty discouraged with our recruitment efforts (some good players and maybe others to come) but nothing so far to create much excitement. Maybe if the HC would communicate his plan and share his excitement it would be different. But alas he is MIA. Somebody send me some purple koolaid. My suppy has run out.

First, I don't entirely disagree. That being said, very few head coaches are talking right now. They are recruiting like crazy!
All I can say, let's first see where we are in 13 days. They are after some impact players, and if they come here, I think that could turn some heads. Again, that is a huge IF. Then, let's just see what happens over the summer. Recruits should be able to get on campus in April, which will open another wave of guys that have entered the portal already from other schools

All the FBS/WAC chatter I’ve seen references a “5 to10 year” window. As we have all learned this pst year, a lot can happen in a short period of time. Me thinks the Power 5 will separate from the NCAA, and schools like SMU, UTEP, UTSA, Rice and Texas State, respectively, might like the WAC more, if not, most.
