So far we have signed only 1 OL and 2 DT's. We really need to get some help in these positions, especially OL. Having a speedy WR wouldn't be bad either.

OL and WR, I agree. DT we are okay at, though, if we add 1 more, that would be fine too. At DT, we have only lost 1 player from last year's roster, so the need isn't huge. Bogey, I know you would agree with this, I would love to find a 310+ lb DT that can play. That would be nice!

Yeah, I agree. I have high hopes for Austin Lozano. I like what I see of this Eades kid, too but competition level may make him look good. Morgan is a keeper but light for a DT as are nearly all others at that position. We certainly have numbers if not weight. I think adding a player like Sfarcioc to the OL corps would be good. In a couple of years he could be a hoss. Are any of the guys we've offered but haven't signed yet drawing more attention from us?

We have one commit (an Arkansas State de commit) and three offers out to HS seniors. I’d love to see us sign our commit and one other high school player along with a couple of transfers from big time programs. |

Looking back over our posts for what we have remaining on the roster I note that Mavsman has said Kage Hendrix is no longer on the roster. He was just a junior last year--what happened? Has there been anything said about why he's not returning?

If we don't bring additional help for the OL--who starts for us in the fall? I suppose Knox at C--from there I'm blank. Did Wyatt Tate show enough to start? I just haven't seen enough good play from Terry or Parker to think they could be everyday starters. How about Ty Smith? or Jaron Marshall? This position could be a real challenge. Adding Andrews helps but can he play right now?

Our LB corps is pretty thin too. Nwankwo and Brannon (transfer) are our only two proven guys at this position. Hargrove and Green have had limited duty and while capable are not the equals to players that left (Gibbens and Kier). I hope we have help on the way for this position too. To my thinking this position has gone from a position of major strength at the beginning of last year to one of major weakness this year--unless we get some transfer help. How many positions can we say are positions of strength? I thought maybe QB and CB were a positions of strength but we keep adding players there (if in fact Trujillo commits).

*this will sound doom and gloomy for those of you that don’t like reading negative posts about ACU athletics*
We would maybe have one or two players that would be preseason recognized if we were in a conference...Stapp and Dobbins.
That shows me we have zero positions of strength. If a position group has potential, that’s great, but doesn’t equate to it being a strength yet.
Also, though Brannon came from a low level fbs school, it looks like he has hardly played meaningful football in recent years, I can’t say he is proven either.
We have minimal depth in a number of areas, a lot of walk on caliber players for that depth, and minimal game changers right now.
Two players from this regime lasted 4 years and were studs, Parmelly and Gibbens. Kam hill and Qua Washington didn’t make it 4 years (maybe for various reasons). Koy Richardson did but has never become a every down player. Same with Remington Lutz.
Out of this regimes second recruiting class (and really first full cycle for recruiting), we have retained 2 high school signees. Mitchell Melrose, who may be becoming a contributor, and Quent Titre who has been a good player. All the other high schoolers left or got kicked out, most before ever contributing. Some of the transfers stuck around and some were good, but many never showed up/left school/or never contributed.
That’s why we have no depth.
