The team announced last week that they would open their schedule on the road as part of the #BeachBubble Gulf Coast Showcase in Estero, Fla. The team will open with East Tennessee State and will then play two teams to be determined in the bracket style tournament. The rest of the non-conference schedule for the Wildcats will feature two key road matchups with Texas Tech (Dec. 9) and Arkansas (Dec. 22). The team will also host Tarleton, in their first year as a DI member, as part of the West Texas Classic. "We are excited that we were able to put together such a competitive schedule in a season where things can change at a moments notice," stated Golding. "The [Gulf Coast Showcase] is one of the premiere early tournaments for mid-major programs and we are glad to be a part of it. That tournament, on top of two Power 5 opponents, will give us great experience as we head into Southland play." Even the Southland Conference schedule will look a little different this year as they have cut the season down to just 16 games. Teams will only play eight of 12 possible conference opponents, featuring a home-and-home with each of those eight teams. The Wildcats will tip-off their home schedule with the first game of their West Texas Classic on Dec. 5 against Howard Payne. The team will begin Southland play hosting Lamar on Jan. 2. |

Basketball looks to be coming together well at this point. Plus we should have the man-power to produce a pretty good season. I admit to being a bit excited about the coming season.

I have to admit him overly excited about the coming season. Come to think of it, for the past four years, (or more), I've been looking forward to it, about this same time. Let's pray that Covid doesn't hurt our basketball team. |

I bet this summer really challenged coaches in regards to recruiting. A lot of high school players are recruited during the AAU summer circuits and tournaments.

Any Men’s Basketball recruiting news? Talked to Joe a couple of weeks ago. He said he thought they could sign a couple of guys but was unsure if he wanted to. I got the impression that he was wanting to wait until after the season and see who stays around |
