Yes, every player was given a redshirt year. Whether they use it or not is up to the player and the school.
I bumped every player up a year, due to not knowing how the staff will do things. We might know when we see a spring roster

I wasn't sure where to put this, but really awesome to see Sema'J.

If Samaj takes the field next fall, that would be a huge thing for this team

First, it's Sema'J (sorry pet peeve of mine). The most important thing is for him to get well and to continue to recover. Football may not ever happen again, but that is all secondary to the strides he has made

Mavsman is right. Let’s celebrate the progress Sema’J has made and that he will continue to improve, and the work God has done in him. This is inspirational and Sema’J has proven himself the toughest athlete in recent history at ACU.

Saw where Lionell McConnell tweeted he is committing to Colorado Mesa. His choice but not really understanding the move. Was he not happy at ACU? Saw writing on the wall that he would be used less next year?

Just remember that the academic rules for D2 are not as stringent as D1. Just sayin’.

I think he thought he would hit the portal and a lot of D1 schools would flock to him. Guess what, it didn't happen. He did have some offers from D1 schools, but very few that I think were an upgrade from ACU. Instead, he goes to Colorado Mesa and will finish his career there. Best of luck to him, but I think it is a bad decision.

That was kind of my feeling too. Risk you take when you add your name to the transfer portal.

I think that LJ wanted to be the #1 WR somewhere and a lot of FCS coaches either couldn’t promise that or LJ knew he wasn’t going to be able to dominate in some of those programs. It seems like his goal is to dominate and be noticed by the NFL. It seemed like Mesa referred to him as a grad student.

I don't get this at all. LJ was the leading receiver this past year on a team that struggled mightily all season. I think he received some very, very bad counsel that he would stand out on a transfer portal that is crammed full of FBS and FCS players this year. Not a surprise that Colorado Mesa would take a chance on him -- the HC there is former ACU Defensive coordinator Tremaine Jackson.
