Sorry, fanatic. Won't be there this time.
Is anyone going to post a game prediction thread for this game?

I’m with you, but will be in Sec 123.
(Btw, this Gerald Ford isn’t the former president. 😀 He is/was a prominent Dallas businessman. I didn’t realize that myself until I recently read about it on their website.)
Edit: Not sure, he may not have gone to SMU either!

Gerald Ford, the banker, is still living and according to Forbes, he is worth $2.6 billion. He was both a SMU undergrad and an SMU Law School grad (attending their night school back in the day). I don't think he is great health, but when he was healthy, he was one of Gerald Turner's and Brad Cheves' best donors (President Gerald Turner and VP Brad Cheves are both ACU grads and the main cogs in SMU's fundraising juggernaut).
I had a chance to visit with Gerald Ford about 25 years ago -- actually a very nice guy. He told me that he really did not care much for football, but that Gerald Turner convinced him of the need to get football back on the SMU campus and that is why he made that substantial gift.

Every time I see Gerald Ford stadium I think of Chevy Chase tripping in the oval office. 😂

Just for the record. I have known Gerald Ford virtually all of his life. We grew up in the same smallish hometown. His father and mine were very good friends. His dad owned a paint and body shop. Gerry became rich through owning and selling banks, mainly in Texas, New Mexico, and California. . . His older sister, Carolyn, and mine were in the same class and very good friends. Gerry was three years behind me in school. I am good friends with his best friend from when they were in grade school. In fact, I talked to him on the phone yesterday and will be having lunch with him next week. My wife and I have been to his beautiful horse farm in Kentucky twice. Also have been to his 50,000+ acre ranch located between Roswell and Ruidoso and in his offices in Dallas numerous times. Could go on. Just saying this to say that people on this board who do not know him do not need to speculate about Gerald Ford.

Will be in Fort Worth this weekend. Had tickets to the game and alumni function. However COVID is once again raising its ugly head and even though we are vaccinated, we can’t risk exposure in the crowded confines of Gerald Ford since our daughter is getting married next month. Will probably make the home game next week. The Abilene wind will make things safer.

I know it's going to be ridiculously hot tomorrow, but are you any of you planning on checking out the scene on the Boulevard?
