Lamar's pitcher is throwing really well, great control and location. They look like a fine team. We need to shake him up.

We are trying to kill the ball too much and reaching many times. We look tight. Lamar is simply playing better baseball right now.

First time in a while I have seen Huffling over-throwing off balance.

First time in a while I have seen Huffling over-throwing off balance. It's hard watching him pitch tonight, absolutely no control. I am glad he is getting pulled before this game gets too out of hand. Hopefully we can stop the bleeding. Although, we haven't had any sort of offense tonight either.

Our baseball team just does not have the pitching to compete at the level we must play, and it is not a question of skill, it is more a question of the science of pitching. I look for form, location, and speed changes. Effective pitching requires control of the ball flight as well as the form of the throw. I see pitching changes and the next man up is just not smooth. This is a hard concept to really understand but if you have been around good professional pitchers, it would make sense.
Early in the game last night, the Lamar pitcher was pretty impressive and illustrated this perfectly striking out our batter with the bases full. His strikeout pitch was right over the plate but moving a bit down and away while thrown at a slower speed. That is pitching. Don't get me wrong, I have seen our pitchers come out and dominate and when they did, they looked perfectly comfortable and impressive. Our first reliever in game two has shown such brilliance but warming up last night I thought that magic was not showing -- it did not look the same. Sure enough, control was an issue.

I agree with your pitching assessment, but it is more than that. We make bad decisions in general a lot of times throughout the games. We don't adjust to the opponents pitching or the umpire's calls. Do we try to do too much sometimes to try and compensate at times? Probably so, but watching a few other teams play against us makes me realize that our maturity as a team wasn't as high as I thought. To play consistently at this level will take more maturity, depth and talent.

Lamar's pitcher is throwing a lot of circle changes. We are swinging and missing some, but if we sit on one, it could be hit out of the park.

So, we get our coach thrown out of the game... hmmm. Some questionable calls.

I have seen some questionable calls, but we still don't adjust appropriately. Lamar is outplaying us.

Yes, Lamar is outplaying us, and their players are making the right moves. Just when we look like we can get back and maybe take a lead, they make just the right pitch. They should have a better record if they play this way all the time. Pretty impressive bats and play.
I do wish we would bunt on occasion, if for no other reason than to move those infielders in closer.

After this weekend, a .500 season isn't even really plausible.

A bit puzzling how we go from a conference champion to a likely losing season with the lineup we had returning. I sure hope we sweep Sam Houston but that will be a task.

Definitely didn't live up to preseason expectations.

Our lack of basic baseball fundamentals continues to frustrate me.

I haven't paid attention this game, but we are up 7-3 in the top of the 8th.
***Scored 3 runs and now 10-3 in the bottom of the 8th.**
