Surely you want to rethink that!

One I think was inside the park Even if it was inside the park it counts as a homerun. The boxscore only shows 10 ACU homeruns, 1 by Dickson, Staehely, Bash, Gieser, Cruz, and Cazarin, and 2 by Tweedt and Tatrow. Something is off. The writeup also says Bash Randle hit a homerum which is not shown on the boxscore. Bash' individual stats shows a homerun against Marist on 3-5-22. So apparently it was left out of the boxscore for some reason.

ACU having more trouble against Marist today, but they lead 10-8 in the top of the 7th inning. 2 more home runs so far today.

Just wasn’t sure what was being used for source of information and thought maybe that was why there was a discrepancy in counting.

Another good win today but played a little less intensely. I get nervous when pitchers don't throw a first pitch strike in an inning. I also thought we gave them their last two runs when the steal of second was tipped off twice and we still let them get away with it with a running start. Pick the guy off and we would not have given up their last two runs. It was a strong come back from the early deficit and that was quite impressive.

So why did we lose to UIW?

That is the mystery of the age. UIW just had a good day and we did not. Strange things happen in baseball.

I happened to talk to two Marist players at Starbucks yesterday morning. Very nice and polite young men. They were very complementary of our athletics complex. That’s all. Nothing to report.

By the by, I checked out the WAC video coverage of the game. 1st it said "broadcast delayed." So I then checked "live stats" and that showed the game was started. Checked back for the WAC telecast around the 6th inning and the broadcast was in the top of the 2nd inning. This is not good coverage.

So why did we lose to UIW? In college baseball teams tend to use their 4th or 5th starter midweek and our "extra starter" got lit up. That would be my conjecture to a valid question.

ACU had just played a double header on Sunday and a single game on Monday against Michigan St. So when Wednesday came around thei pitching staff had thrown 27 innings in the previous three days, so you are right their top starters and relievers had been used.
