Cam is a little slow for the kind of defense Tanner thinks this team can play. Yet, when you give up 80 and 90 points against good teams, why take out a shooter?

Wow, I just finished reading the ACU-SFA interview of coach Tanner after the game and his analysis was exactly what I suggested earlier in this stream for the events at the end of regulation. He agreed the pass was to the wrong person and Dibba should have gotten it, and what we actually did led to not getting a shot. I felt a bit reticent saying the things I said but now that Coach Tanner has observed the same thing, the pressure is off. But to be honest, my opinion came not from me but from a great coach, Dee Nutt, who was a fantastic teacher of the game. He would have used a three man screen and pass in to Dibba, the same thing ACU did 61 years ago to beat McMurry.

Not having a game plan for a 2 point loss seems a bit much. We lose by 30, you might be able to say that. But by 2 points in double overtime, Come on! Every team has a game plan. It comes down to execution. This team needs a true shot blocker or 2. There is no fear of driving into the lane by any team. Yes this hasn't been the year that many have hoped for, but one positive is I believe we have a go-to guy coming up with Dibba. You look at all of the really good teams in this conference, they have 2-3 guys that know how to get buckets. In his last 8 games, he has 102 points in 8 games (nearly 13 a game). He has shot 39-81 from the field. For a guy that is technically a Freshman, his future looks bright. With so many seniors graduating, he will need help next year SFA did the same thing all game. High screens, open the paint, isolate a big on cajuste, let him drive or shoot a three or kick to one of the guards on the wing. Mix in the occasional Hall drive or back down on the block and that was their offense ALL game. We mix the ball around and each game someone different steps up and that is great, but when it came to closing the game out we had no one take over, we had no set plays that worked, we had no good looks.

Spot on. I kept expecting us to intercept more passes by baiting them on the kick outs. SFA was so predictable, often off the ground and having to throw back out either top side. SFA could sure hit those threes. When a team shoots over 50 percent on both FGs and 3s, winning against them is not likely. In some ways we were fortunate to be in the game. Our guys played intensely and well to get back to a lead. But then we switched out our plan on D and SFA simply could not miss enough.

Once again tonight ACU proves to be the best broadcast in the WAC that I have seen. Camera work and angles are excellent, announcers are informed and pretty fair in their comments and calls of the game. Folks in charge of broadcasts at SFA should take notes.

This is beneficial for us more than others. ACU could have games against UTSA, UNT, Rice, and UTEP in the near future. Three of the cities have large ACU alumni networks. And we could also get a game against Joe Golding.

UTSA and UNT are departing CUSA for the American next year. That’s unfortunate.

Never would have dreamed that two of our international guys would say Denny's is their favorite place to eat! That was an entertaining video.

A real "stem winder" so far. 8-8 nearly halfway thru 1st half. Hard to keep up with all the scoring.

It's going to be an uphill climb, but we have come from behind often. I want another crack at Sam.

Sadly, I took the tv out of our guest bedroom which I am in the middle of painting. But, I’m taking breaks often while the “paint drys” and watching the game in the living room. 😂 Go Wildcats!
