In the NCAA Championships, In the men’s bracket, GCU draws a 14 seed against Gonzaga. Let’s hope they keep shooting the ball like they have. Remember, every win puts more money in ACUs coffers. In the Women’s bracket #14 Southern Utah plays #3 Notre Dame. This is a tough one although they are not the Irish of a few years ago.
Sam Houston and UVU both get in the NIT. Both have a chance at a long run. SFA, meanwhile, gets the NIT auto bid for the women.

Sam had an opportunity to host a first round game in the NIT, but decided not to bid because it would’ve displaced a Volleyball camp from Johnson Coliseum. You all can make your judgments about that situation, but I would be embarrassed as a fan.

But, also look at it from the viewpoint of the SHSU athletic administration. The NIT is not a big money maker for the participating schools. More than likely, SHSU funds at least 1 of their VB assistants through their camps -- true of virtually all of the sports besides FB and BB. I would think that the SHSU admin was not willing to fund the VB budget to make up the difference for their camp.

I would love to see the WAC get the recognition for a Gonzaga win, and more money, but REALLY have a hard time rooting for GCU. I could have rooted for SUU or UVU, heck.. I woulda rooted for SFA or Sam...

I certainly understand your sentiment, but I want the WAC to ascend.

A little more about the Sam Houston situation. They had to cancel the home game because it is spring break and they would not have had the necessary staff to make it work
