Just doing some more research on up coming games and I was curious as to how Massey was following the NCAA directory. They are. Massey also has all of the previous WAC football teams now in the ASUN. Since the UAC doesn't officially exist, I am sure that legally, under the NCAA, they moved us all to the ASUN for the AQ and the NCAA said call yourselves whatever you want.

Right now UNA is playing a pretty good game against #22 Mercer. They are tied up 7-7.

Mercer QB waiting too long on pass plays as UNA does a good job of defending their receivers. They do better on the ground, but even at that, Mercer is only up 10-7 at the half.
**After the weather delay, the game ended at 17-7 with Mercer on top. As high as they are ranking Mercer, I would call this a little victory for UNA to play them that hard.**

This is a couple of weeks old, but for those looking for a good overview of the UAC and FCS in general, these guys are good to listen to.

Again, a couple of weeks old but this is specifically covering UAC. They should have a weekly podcast about the UAC.

Wow, mentioning ACU as a possible playoff team is impressive.

I think we would be a possible bubble team at best again this year, but it is still nice to hear us mentioned in such discussions. Personally, I would like to see us be able to break the top 25 in the polls and finish the season in the top 25. Even if we don't make the playoffs, that would be a big accomplishment for us. What will be key to watch out for at the end of the season is if the UAC gets an At-Large bid, as well as the AQ.

Always right on the point Outsider. Reaching top 25 at this early stage of the Patterson era would be great success. I suspect we can do it. I still am frustrated we did not go 9-2 last year.

North Alabama certainly didn't look like a dead last team against Mercer.

North Alabama certainly didn't look like a dead last team against Mercer. Agree, and it goes to the point of the UAC really being a good conference top to bottom.

There may be a new football school, University of West Georgia, in the UAC next year. Of course, with as much change as our conference has undergone the past couple of years and with teams wanting to move to the FBS level, ACU may not be in this conference (if it even exists) next year.

Before the season started, there were debates on whether the UAC or the Southland was the better conference. After only one full week of football (yes, not enough data yet, I know), the Massey composite rankings have the UAC as not only the much better conference, but the 5th best conference in the FCS. masseyratings.com/ranks?s=cf&sub=fcs&c=1

What's interesting is that it is "ASUNSports" welcomes them in the first tweet above. Oh well, I guess it helps balance the east and west divisions. The question now is does Valdosta State follow?
