I hesitate to blame play calling. I'm more inclined to blame inconsistant execution. I still think that we were severely limited on offense and didn't have a consistent playmaker at wide receiver. The coaches need to find some specific players who can be plugged in next year if we are going to compete for the playoffs. We were supposed to have this incredible O-Line and deep stable of running backs. I agree this was probably the most disappointing part of the year. Returning so much on the O-line I expected such a higher level of performance from that group. Just seemed like the run game was never the weapon that it was thought to be. Pass protection seemed pretty good overall, which was certainly helpful.

Half a second, that is what we needed. Options on runs and passes were a half second too slow in execution. At least that is what it seemed. A great deal of our passing offense seemed slow developing. And sideline passes just down the line of scrimmage did not produce much. We did not have many deceptive plays. One could almost guess our first option calls based on who looked at whom when lining up.
