What a day so far. With only a few holes to go we are -15 as a team. This is such a reversal of form and again talks of consistency. We should be this way all the time but grateful for today. At last glance, Buisson finished -2. Huesel was having an incredible round (-8 with 2 holes to go with 2 eagles) and Hoyeau was -5. Jackson was down to +1. We are in 2nd place 7 shots behind UTRGV who are having a good round themselves.

Well our day is done. -15. Heusel an incredible round with a -9 (63). Hoyeau -5 (67), Buisson -2 (70). Jackson +1 (73) are our counters. These 4 guys played the back nine in -15 and if you add what Comegys (75) and Cooper (69) did, then you can see the potential in this team. The weather and course set up must have been conducive to good scoring because numerous teams and individuals did well today. Tarleton has gotten hot and has not tied us for 2nd place but this is a great building block for the rest of the season.

The men have just gone into 3rd place at their tourney in Louisiana. They ended the 1st round very strong to finish at -3 and are now -5 for the 2nd round (-8 total). All the players are playing well. Greg Hoyeau is leading at -5 for the day followed by Jaime Lewis at -2 (Wow!), Thomas Buisson at Even par, Zane Heusel at +1 and Charley Jackson at +2. We'll need to finish our last holes well and shoot a really good round tomorrow to catch SFA who are at -17 and SE Louisiana at -15.

Greg Hoyeau birdied 15, 16, 17, 18, and 1 to end his round. Impressive!

The men are starting well this morning with 3 early birdies. We are -2 for the day thru 3 holes. The other leaders are also -2 so we haven't gained any on them.

Now -3 for the day and have gained 2 shots on SLU for 2nd place. I might also mention that Preston Defriend shot 72-74 yesterday and is even par today. We are really developing depth and next year is looking like we'll have a really solid team.

Although we've lost 2 shots to par in the last few holes we've gained 3 shots on SFA for 2nd place and are now 5 shots behind them. SLU continues at -17 and we are -9. Concerning is that Zane Heusel is +3 and is last on our team so far.

We could pull out a win with a great back nine. We are 5 shots out of 2nd place and 6 out of 1st. 9 holes to go.

We are now just 4 shots out of 1st place. Zane has birdies on 3 out of his last 4 holes. Jackson not having a particularly good day at +3 but others are holding steady. Lewis is -1 and Hoyeau, Buisson and Heusel are E. Our -1 score for the day is the best by 4 shots.

4 holes to go and we are back to 8 shots behind SLU and 5 shots behind SFA. Just can't seem to get anything going. Buisson is -1, Lewis and Heusel are E, and Jackson is +2. Hoyeau has gone to +3. DeFriend is now -1 as an individual.

Men come up short but many positives to the week. The play of Greg Hoyeau (-3), Jamie Lewis (-3) and Preston DeFriend (+1) was impressive and Thomas Buisson (E) also had a very consistent week. Zane (E) was up and down but still a pretty good week. 3rd place behind SLU (their home course) and SFA (a surprise).

Men have started their last tourney before conference in Columbus OH at Ohio State's home course. The Scarlet course is a tough test of golf and the field is by far the best of the year for us. Ohio St is led by Neal Shipley won won low amateur at the Masters last week. We are currently at +3 after about 5 holes. Hoyeau started triple, bogey, bogey for a really poor beginning. Our other guys are doing better with Heusel at -1, Lewis and Jackson at +1 and Buusson at +2. We are only 2 shots off the lead.
