For the first time that I've seen, PFF has released "position grade rankings" for FCS schools (based on Week 2 results). Nice to see some Wildcats in the top 5 against all other FCS schools. Listed below are the player grades by position for UAC members: QB#5 Justin Miller, Southern Utah — 87.4 WR#2 Caleb Chapman, UIW — 87.2 Center#1 Tay Yanta, Abilene Christian — 80.0 Guard#4 Keegan Holm, SFA — 74.8 #5t Jacob Thielen, Abilene Christian — 74.0 Edge Defender#5 Steven Parker, UIW — 86.7

The STATS Analyst FCS poll has us just outside the top 25, receiving 51 votes. That about doubles the vote total we had last week. To break through, we have to play well against UIW. If we beat UIW, we will make the FCS top 25 for sure.

Here is an interesting take on playoff seeding based on only games played so far. ACU will probably have to win every FCS game this season (maybe one close loss to UIW or UCA) to get the respect of the playoff committee to seed them this high. x.com/FCSFansNation/status/1702756619472572551?s=20

Wow I would have never expected that in pre-season with all the hype going on. Just hope we can finish strong after we get back to play.

The UAC championship and the path to the playoffs appears to be coming down to the last 3 weeks of the regular season among UCA, AP and EKU. They each play the other 2 during that time. SFA now has 2 losses so they are probably out. Southern Utah and ACU have both lost to UCA and play each other which will knock one out of contention. Tarleton has one loss to Southern Utah but has Peay and EKU and SFA yet to play besides ACU. Whew. It’s complicated.
By running the conference table, ACU could be in the mix but in case of a one loss tie, I doubt we would win any tie-breaker even if UCA has 2 losses.
But it’s not over by any means. Of course, we need to beat Northern Alabama first.

Sorry, but don't see any scenario where we make the playoffs this year. At this point, just looking to end up over .500.

AP is 10, UCA is 17, EKU is 4, So Utah is 6 and ACU is 41. Plus, they all have stronger schedules going forward. Who knows what the conference tie breaker really is since there’s no round robin?
