In my 45 years of driving from South Texas to Abilene, I never once drove through downtown Coleman until two weekends ago. My cousin told me how unique the downtown area is and that he had eaten at a pizza restaurant there called Rancho Pizza. He tried it because he had read an article about how good it was.
So, today my wife and I stopped at Rancho Pizza on our way home. I’ve had pizza in Amalfi, Rome and Paris and Rancho Pizza in Coleman is right up there with them, if not better. Wood fired, fresh, unique ingredients combined with a perfect crust makes this place an amazing stop. We highly recommend this place. It is open Thursday through Sunday - right in beautiful downtown Coleman.

Agree, it is a good place to eat. We have taken a drive down to Coleman and back just to have a Rancho Pizza.

Yes, Rancho is worth the drive from Abilene.
Another terrific place in Coleman is the famous Owl Drug Store. Throwback soda fountain breakfast and lunch only. The Owl burger is local angus beef ground right in the store. No frozen patties here. Order hand cut and hand battered onion rings and/or fresh hand cut fries to complement your burger. Then top it all off with homemade pie.
Unique and charming gift shop will seduce your money right out of your wallet.

I would drive down to the Cold Water Cattle Co. It's not as good as Perini's, Joe Allen's, Lytle or Copper Creek but the prices were much better and their little cabin atmosphere was great. It was nice for a quick get out of town meal...
