This is our final home game. Yesterday, I was feeling happy that we played UT first because we needed that game to get some confidence back. We will need it coming into the final home game. Tarleton has been inconsistent at the beginning of the season, but has really seemed to hit their stride this back half. Last night only solidified that. One interesting tidbit will be that it will be Q. Washington's last game. Last night was his last game at his home field as a senior. Imagine how pumped he will be to be playing his last defensive game here at ACU. He had a really good game last night. He might look to even better that performance here. ACU is going to struggle with the speed of their defense. Offensively, protecting the ball and quick, productive, plays will be key. Can we slow them down and force them to play our game? As much as we are struggling in the trenches, I fear that will be an uphill battle. We will have a hard time with both their run and their pass offense. My big hope is we get some key take aways. This is a game that will take a lot of focus and critical film study, then step out of our box a little to keep them on their toes. If we get predictable, it will get real ugly real quick.

I really hope our fans prioritize this game if they have conflicting tasks. It would be really sad if the Tarleton fans outnumbered the ACU fans at our own stadium.

I can't imagine that the ACU community gets excited to show up for this game. But Tareleton will. Could be a long day.

We've beaten Tarleton the past 2 years. Early on it was said that Tarleton didn't add many recruits from the portal, so what has changed? Last year McIvor threw for almost 400 yds in the game. We didn't run particularly well but have some new RB's and a mature OL. They did run very well vs us and we've had some challenges at stopping the run this year. Will we be at full strength defensively? Last year Golightly caught 7 passes, will he even see the field this year? Will our offense be vanilla or have some creativity in it? If we have success running, will we continue to press that advantage? I'd like to think we can rise to this challenge. I think this game means more than just a win or loss on our record. It means future recruiting prowess in Central and West Texas, maybe even the Metroplex. Why we haven't put everything together this year is an enigma to me but I'd rather we did it this week. We have to figure out how to stop the run and put pressure on their QB. We seem to be great on 4th downs, why not before? Our OL needs to move them off the line and our RB's need to run hard, and eat up clock. But if our team is as "hang dog" as this message board is, I guess we ought not even play the game.

Tarleton is definitely riding some positive momentum at the moment. You can feel it all over Stephenville. Lonn Reisman has announced his retirement. Tarleton is wanting to send him off in the best of ways. I was talking to a Tarleton alum today at lunch. Even he asked why we switched to the 3-3-5. We have to be able to stop the run for sure. If our offense clicks and can get ahead early, they might try to do like they did last year and throw more. That might play into our hands some. But Coach Miller, the new OC, seems to be the kind of guy who stays with what's working, unlike last year. Before the season started all we heard was that Coach Whitten may be at the end of his rope but he might've bought himself more time.

All I felt was frustration from road construction and the stench of cow manure.

That might have been the worst defensive drive I’ve seen from us this year.

However, that was one of the better offensive drives I’ve seen from us this year.

Nice drive to answer Tarleton. Now, hope to see the D respond.

Offensive penalties and drops are hard to watch. I understand that Pugh’s philosophy involves having the right personnel on the field but how many delay of games have we had this year because our offense can’t get lined up?
