100% with Troy on this one, Outsider. It's not a bad take. It's 100% reality. Our defense played well, but we continued with bad penalties, poor offensive play calling and struggled with the play calls we did make. We did fairly well considering who we were up against, but they were far from 100%. Did we make the game somewhat respectable? Sure, we did manage to keep it from being a blow-out, but the outcome was still nothing other than what was expected. Again, that's reality. Saying it was embarrassing for A&M was bad. It wasn't. They did exactly what they were supposed to do, even when they were in a bad situation. Our offense was disappointing. As expected. The penalties were dumbfounding. Our Defense played incredible. I was at the game. I was texting with A&M alum throughout the game. They were frustrated and embarrassed, regardless of the 14 garbage time points. You are choosing to see what you want to see. I could care less about if they were injured or not. So were we. 42 has been playing with a club on his hand for the entire second half of the year. Our best running back hasn’t been able to play a complete game since UNT. An FCS defense embarrassed an SEC offense for 3.5 quarters. It was a blast. Just wish our offense had given our guys a chance at really making them worry about losing the game.

A critical part of the game in the fourth quarter when we could have made it 24-17, and we blew it. The Aggies just did what their fans wanted them to do. The "what ifs" were very appealing, but hopefully in time we can be more disciplined and more creative offensively and earn more respect.

From the stadium vantage point, the penalties had almost nothing to do with the outcome. The last chop block penalty stopped a possible 4th quarter drive but that’s the only one and you could see it from the stands. Given the decible level in the stadium, a couple of procedure penalties could be expected.
There was a horrible no-call in the 2nd quarter when an Aggie db tripped Tristan who had beaten him badly on his way to a TD catch. Literally dove at his feet from behind.
I was disappointed by the last touchdown when they could have run out the clock but both teams were playing scrubs so whatever.
Don’t be hard on the offense. The speed of the Aggie defense was like nothing we’ve seen. The Cats basically played a mistake free game. No turnovers, one sack? Maverick made some bad throws late in the game. He got slammed on what could have been (should have been) a roughing call and wasn’t as sharp for the rest of that series.

No question the refs missed the interference call on tripping Golightly, and roughing could have easily been called on the hit on Maverick. The penalties (or required TOs to avoid them) for delay of game are really inexcusable in my opinion. Officials are just not as "normal" as I used to remember them. I get upset over how they spot the ball. A few times the spot was moved so it was nose on the yard line, one in particular where the ref picked the spot up and moved it to the yard line marker after the players were already returning to the huddle, and not where the linesman was marking it.
Overall, the Wildcats performed well but the score obscures just how effective our defense was for 3 and a half quarters. It finally dawned on me what a 3-3-5 might do, at least for runs. Now it is on to next year!

Yep, Tarleton beat us when we were up by double digits with "garbage points".

An FCS winning against an SEC for 3.5 quarters would be embarrassing. An FCS keeping it halfway respectable for 3.5 quarters is halfway respectable but far from embarrassing.

I didn't miss anything, it was just a donation to A&M. I had a better time with family. Maybe the Cats will figure something out this offseason.

UNA up 13-0 over FSU in another paycheck game. FSU QB Jordan Travis just injured knee and being carted off.

Amen Bogey and Cattitude! I'm not in for moral victories, but trying being an A&M fan right now. ACU scores 1st. It is 17-7 at the half and 24-10 going to the 4th. Were we ever a threat to win? No! But if you would have told me the score was 55-10 at the end, I would have believed you. However, it wasn't. Yet Outsider can only see the negative. Sad, really.

I have given both positive and negative. You only pointing to my negativity is sad, really, but do what you want. All of you are reaching for moral victories. That's great, but that's what it is.
