I would not be shocked if ACU and SFA moved back as well.

I would not be shocked if ACU and SFA moved back as well. That would be a big step back. At some point we may run out of options if these other schools keep tucking tail and running.

UTRGV fans are not happy. I worry about our options like medic does if other schools turn to the SLC, WCC or get to go to CUSA.

I would not be shocked if ACU and SFA moved back as well. The reason ACU and Stephen F left the SLC was because most of the schools were not improving their facilities. ACU has spent a significant amount of $$ in facilities in the last 10 years. HCU and UIW play in gyms and on fields that would embarrass 3A schools. I don’t see either us or the Jacks wanting to even consider going back to the Southland. The reason Lamar and RGV moved were probably because of costs and the inability to compete.

And the biggest issue- it would cost us $2 million to go back to the SLC. I do not see anyway the Board allows that to happen. If ACU is moving, it will be to try and move up, not down. Much like a few years ago, I could see SFA, Tarleton St and ACU looking to be a part of a package into a better conference.

Not advocating moving to SLC but wondering what the difference in travel costs for us is in WAC as opposed to SLC for a year, 2 yrs, 5 yrs? I' d think when you add that all up, $2 mil penalty for moving would be a pittance.

The football conference alone makes it worthwhile for us to stay put. I think, like others of you, that our future is intertwined with TSU and SFA. They are ambitious and so are we.

Just a brief observation regarding the WAC. GCU advanced to the 2nd round of the tournament. That means more $$ for the WAC and bigger shares for each school. Go Lopes!

The TV commentators voted 3-0 that GCU would beat Alabama in tonight's (Sunday) game.

The TV commentators voted 3-0 that GCU would beat Alabama in tonight's (Sunday) game. Would be nice, but a major upset. They are down by 8 at the half. They are hanging in, but can they actually pull ahead and hold Bama off during the stretch?

GCU played defense like ACU used to play. But I also felt like they got away with a lot of fouls.
