Sam Hicks…He’s not overly big, not the fastest of backs, but what an awesome surprise he’s been and a model of consistency. He has good vision and is decisive in his running. Good balance and body control. He is a good return man because of how he sees the field. Not sure how that translates to the transfer portal as he didn’t really play much at Central Michigan but I’m glad they found him.

Some of you know (and now you all do) I live across Judge Ely from the Bible Bldg. We had an awesome view of the drone show tonight. Hope you saw it also.. Incredible.

The North Alabama game was a revisit of the Angelo State game in our past. I am so happy we bounced back and played better against EKU. Hicks is a very talented ball carrier.
But something else.... I had to leave just before the half to host an important State group followed by a dinner (at Perini's no less!) I thought no problem, I will watch the rest of the game on ESPN+ when I get home. But if you go to the ESPN+ site, there is no listing for the ACU/EKU game. It was not under the WAC conference and there is no listing for the UAC. After trying and trying but not finding it, I went on the ACUSPORTS site and it clearly said the game was covered. So, I clicked on the ESPN+ logo (in desparation) on the teams/schedule site for ACU VS EKU and like magic, the game appeared on my computer, a replay from ESPN+. Puzzling why our site links you to a replay but the ESPN+ site does not.

A lazy throw by Maverick gets picked. Same screen play that scored vs Central Arkansas. Defensive lineman from EK read it well and got a hand up. It probably scores again if it wasn’t tipped. A middle screen is not something you can put a bunch of zip on. |

I missed that on the stream originally. Seemed to me that Maverick faked left then threw off his back foot (thus the lazy throw comment). My apologies. |
