This is fun. Coaches Carey, Thrash, Holloway, Smith all tweeting about "closing the deal". Wildcatter retweeted a tweet from Kendall Jennings, a former Nevada commit, to Coach Carey, saying he had found a home. Hoping it is ACU. Jennings is 6'1" 285-290 OL from Desoto.

Perhaps the reason that the coaches have been so tight-lipped this season about potential recruits, offers, commits, is this- newsok.com/if-youre-a-college-football-fan-who-tweets-at-recruits-youre-committing-an-ncaa-violation/article/3916214And this- highschoolsports.oregonlive.com/news/article/-5357817445412191885/fans-interacting-with-football-recruits-on-twitter-is-fun-annoying-sometimes-creepy-and-an-ncaa-violationBoth tell the same story. Sheer speculation of course, but it is possible. The more you make it public who you are going after or who is a lean or a commit means the greater potential for fans to join in. Well meaning, and innocent, but still an NCAA violation. I asked a compliance officer about this last year and his response was that any contact with a non-enrolled student athlete (a tweet on their Twitter account, a comment on their Facebook page, a text, an email) could be a potential issue for a program. And, he noted that this was the case for a booster and not just an official of a school. I asked what the definition of a booster was-he asked "Have you ever bought a ticket to a game?" I answered "Yes." "Then you are a booster", he said.

I read the compliance rules posted on ACU's site, looking specifically for rules governing social media. all I could find was "face to face" contacts. Enlighten us and post the social media rules which prohibit Twitter contact. I'll certainly stop immediately.

I get the sense that Justin Miller has committed to us. He looked extremely happy to be wearing the ACU uniform. Quincy Dunn tweeted that he has not committed yet, but will have a conversation with the coaches tomorrow

I've never tweeted and have always been against social media but I'll tell ya it sure is fun to track recruiting with it.
Miller could be an interesting find. Haven't watched film on Jennings but know he used to be a LB that moved to guard so I'm thinking he's a mean one.
Hoping for sadler and some surprises.

Looks like Eke is happy to be a Wildcat.

Eke is a safety that I believe tore his ACL early in the season which maybe hampered his recruiting. hopefully he recovers fully, maybe redshirts, and comes back as a player.

J.R. Hall from Mesquite Horn and Damon Weaver from Desoto were also visiting this weekend.
Brayden Talbert from Montgomery and Hunter Griffith from Liberty Christian MIGHT also have been visiting, not sure, just digging.

Coaches are still tweeting this morning. Coach Smith tweets "incredible morning" for the Cats. Looks like we're really stocking up on safeties and CB's. Can't wait for Feb to hear all the names.
