I think Griffith can be a stud for us. Looks like Jamie Walker mold coming out of high school.
James looks solid to me. He looked pretty fit in the pictures I've seen and I think he can be a solid complement to Deandre when his time comes.
DB and LB are the question mark. I just wonder how many players will end up playing a new position, guys that were safeties that will be switched to OLB or guys that were safeties that may play CB. All depends on they develop and mature through weight training programs.

I assume that Denmark and Grady will start at LB. Then there's Gates, Burford, Lawliss, and Solsbury. Plus Tarver and Summers. My guess is that Lawliss and Summers will back up Denmark. Everyone else will be fighting for the other OLB starting spot. Gates is physical specimen. Hope he can play the position.

I also thought that the concensus was that Grady was not coming back. Maybe I misunderstood. I think Tarvers play the last part of the year will get him a starting OLB spot. I'd bet that Gates, Denmark and Tarver will be our 3 starting LB's.

I think Grady is back, but I think he or Gates could move to safety if one of the new guys don't step up and the staff feels there is quality depth needed there

I know Grady and he's always told me that he's playing next year.

This seemed to be a tougher recruiting year. but I think the coaches set their sights high - looking primarily for d backs and wide receivers especially after the two D- tackles came at mid-term. T he three unstarred gems of this class are Phelps, James, and Griffith , in my opinion. We missed a bunch of DB prospects, it seems, but if you include Griffith, looks like we signed some talented future WRs. At DB we've got Ausbornes, Epps (?), Baker, Bryant, Barnett, Arnold, Howard, Walker, Johnson, and Mack. So our cupboard is not bare. There will be fierce competion in the spring. Ausborne was a *** and Mack and Howard were **. Henderson is a *** coming in the fall and Prince will be at Spring training. LB and DL are really deep. Douglas said that Devondrick will likely move inside - all 6'5" and 300 pounds of him. But he's behind the other guys right now. In short, I think a bunch of guys looked at our roster and decided they might not play as early as the think they should. Our coaches have done a good job of picking up "unstarred gems" AJ Tolbert, LaMarcus Allen and Trayvaughn Moore from the last class were all major contributors that were ignored by the ranking services. I am going with Justin Miller from this class. Quck, shifty, small backs work well in our system. I think he will thrive here in a DCH kind of way.

Definitely the kind of kids our program needs--one who is sold on the program. I'll certainly be watching his progress.

On the ESPN link above, they have the results from the combine for Brandon as well as the best and worst resutls of each test. Did anybody else see that Brandon did the 20 yard shuttle in 4.15 sec, which is respectable, but the worst time in the shuttle is listed as 44.30 sec........ Did somebody tear their ACL on the first step and roll the rest of the shuttle..... That has to be some kind of misprint.
