My thoughts. I put my thoughts together over the last few days then I stole the format from Oscar.
OFFENSE
QB Luke Anthony 6'1 180 Fort Worth All Saints Episcopal
www.hudl.com/athlete/2970874/luke-anthony
Two word: accuracy and touch. Decent athlete. Decent arm strength. Good mailman. Will deliver it ontime, and where the athletes can make lots of YAC.
OL/TE Emoree Giddens 6'4 270 Lubbock Coronado
www.hudl.com/athlete/2616854/emoree-giddens
STUD! Best prospect in the class. Athletic, strong, aggressive. Seems to have good technique. Polished. Should redshirt, but should be a 4yr starter after that.
OL Anietie Etuk 61 275 Dickinson
www.hudl.com/athlete/3114855/anietie-etuk
Nasty. Aggressive
RB Eric Shay-Clayburn 6'0 189 Waco Midway
www.hudl.com/athlete/2244726/eric-shay-clayburn
Different type of RB than we are used to. Longer & Leaner. Good short-area quickness, but when in space his strides lengthen. Makes his top speed deceptively fast. All-around good RB.
(Disclaimer: WRs are HARD to evaluate. Outside of QB, may be the hardest position, for several reasons. For starters, very few can run routes.)
WR Greg Craddock 6'6 185 Converse Judson
www.hudl.com/athlete/5618686/greg-craddock
Long strider. Decent route runner despite long strides. Needs bulk and needs a lot of polish. Limited athleticism makes him easy to stay with.
WR Josh Fink 6'0 175 Coppell
www.hudl.com/athlete/2588761/josh-fink
Nothing jumped off the page. Jack of all trades, master of none. Average athlete, average all-around.
WR Chase Cokley 6'2 185 Austin Westlake
www.hudl.com/athlete/1755384/chase-cokley
Most complete WR of the group. Very good route runner. Good hands catcher. Good size and athleticism.
WR Donnell Dunn 6'0 195 Cypress Springs
www.hudl.com/athlete/2618136/donell-dunn
Very hard to evaluate his film. Grainy film, bad camera work. When you can see him, he’s only running straight down the field. Looks to have long arms. We know he’s a great athlete, but it doesn’t really show up on film. He also doesn’t catch the ball cleanly very often. Hard to evaluate.
WR DeShun Qualls 5'11 175 Houston Jersey Village
www.hudl.com/athlete/1578822/deshun-qualls
Most explosive athlete in the class. Very fluid, good vision. Should make an easy transition to WR. Kind of reminds me of Taylor Gabriel, just bigger.
TE Trevor Crain 6'2 243 Butler Community College ENROLLED
www.hudl.com/athlete/2928984/trevor-crain
DEFENSE
DT Cole Burgess 6'2 275 North Richland Hills
www.hudl.com/athlete/5229728/cole-burgess
Very good athlete for a DT. Good technique. Uses hands well. Strong at the point of attack. Relentless, good motor. Smart player, diagnoses well. Like all HS kids, needs more bulk and strength.
DT Makoni Pole 6'1 280 Euless Trinity
www.hudl.com/athlete/4704905/makoni-pole
Not the athlete that Burgess is. Different body type. Different type of player. Different position. Big body, low center of gravity, run-stuffer, 1-tech/NG-type. Good strength and technique, good hands. Gets tired late in games and loses technique at times. Ceiling is Josh Bloom
DE/OLB Corey Smith 6'2 220 Missouri City Hightower
www.hudl.com/athlete/2479764/corey-smith
Good (not great) first step. Very good rip move. Good at getting lower than lineman and staying close around the edge to get to QB quickly. Good at reading and disrupting
screens. Keeps hips in position on running plays. Needs to add strength and bulk (as do all HS kids). Needs to develop (or use) other pass-rushing moves.
DE Temisan Kuyatsemi 6'3 235 Alief Hastings
www.hudl.com/athlete/2723819/temisan-kuyatsemi
Raw, explosive, strong, chiseled athlete. Wins with pure athleticism, rarely with technique. Pound for pound, may be the best athlete of the class. Needs refining in most everything he does. Tools are there to be special.
OLB Jakob Yandell 6'1 195 Allen
www.hudl.com/athlete/4304549/jakob-yandell
Good athlete, good instincts, good technique, good tackler. Thin frame. Not off-the-charts potential, but no real holes in his game. One of the better defenders on a 6A state championship defense. Needs bulk, too thin at the moment.
OLB Colton Cohea 6'1 215 Sinton
www.hudl.com/athlete/1660015/colton-cohea
ard to evaluate moving down to LB. Big body, good all-around athlete. Not afraid to hit, but needs better tackling technique. Lowers his head sometimes, and lunges at other
times.
OLB Jeremiah Chambers 6'2 215 Cedar Park Vista Ridge
www.hudl.com/athlete/4183716/jeremiah-chambers
Best potential of 3 LBs. Big body, really good athlete. Good player. Not as refined as Yandell, but more explosive. Big hitter.
CB Adonis Davis 5'9 170 Bastrop
www.hudl.com/athlete/4400624/adonis-davis
Aggression! Plays much bigger than his size. Natural CB. Hard to tell how his game will translate because the level of competition was very bad.
S Landry Hutchins 5'10 180 Keller
www.hudl.com/athlete/1794011/landry-hutchins
The kind of Safety our coaches love. Smart, instinctual, good tackler, big hitter. Good enough athlete to play all four secondary spots, but not the best athlete on the field. Plays well in space with good read-and-react time.
FS Trayvone Blake 6'2 195 Garden City
