Sobering fact of the day.
Recruiting takes a hit when there is a coaching change. Last year 247 had us in the top 10 FCS programs. So far this year we are not among the top 190 programs. Virtually every SLC program is ahead of us.
Depending on when we complete our hire, which may be delayed until as late as sometime in January if we hire a coach involved in playoffs or bowl games, the recruiting cycle will be wrapping up. Whe we do finish our hire the first task will be holding onto player we have who may be thinking about a transfer and contacting those who were leaning toward us prior to the change.
We really won't know how good our new coach is at recruiting until he gets his staff in place and we go through a complete recruiting cycle.

In a perfect world, someone would be able to be hire by the second week in December. That would give them a couple of months to shore up this recruiting class before signing day.

I am not sure what is happening while we are in limbo. ACU assistants who are usually very busy on Twitter have started following coaches at other schools rather than recruits. Not that I blame them. They have to think about their own future. From our perspective though, based on Twitter activity not much is happening on the recruiting front.
