TF .... WBB has one unused scholarship as far as I know. (M Martin). I need to talk to Erika but I think they are looking for a transfer since they already have 8 Sophs and Frosh.

I believe, though I am not totally sure about this that Hodge, Davis and Udoye are full and Novil is a partial. On another note, I just received an email that indicated that we should have 30+ new football players for next season. If that is the case, there will be many more names added to this list. Obviously, many will be PWO, but that is a lot!!!! I was reviewing some of the posts from the days just before signing day. I was struck by this post by Mavsman, who is very much in the know. In the post, he mentions that ACU will have 30+ newcomers next year. As we know from signing day, the 'Cats actually got 17 names on the dotted line. That would mean that we may have somewhere in the 13-18 range of walkon types. That got me thinking about the walkons from last year. Frankly, it was tough to spot the names of most walkons last year. The only ones listed on the roster page were the walkons who were invited to come to 2-a-days. These would have pics (shot on the opening day of 2-a-days) and possibly a little bit about them. A few additional ones would report during 2-a-days. In the past, the staff usually kept 2-4 kids available to report if they had defections early in 2-a-days. The majority of walkons reported on the first day of classes at ACU and this was usually a group of 20-25 additional kids. The only way to spot these walkons was to scour the rosters listed on the game day press releases. I happen to enjoy that sort of scouring, so I found several names that appeared on those rosters during the course of the year. It would appear that ACU added 24-25 walkon types to the roster last year. Here is a list: -Jake Franklin - QB - Grapevine Faith Christian; Tyler Ward - QB - Abilene Wylie; Jack Roberson - RB - FW Christian; Chris Borders - RB - Houston Westbury Christian; Kerry Sims - RB - Abilene Cooper; Ty Nichols - FB - Idalou; Kevin Stallcup - TE - Bowie; Colton Machart - TR - Shiner St. Paul; Damon Moss - Terrell HS/Navarro Col; Carson McCoy - WR - Kerrville Tivy; Quinton McGill - WR - Coppell; Will Jackson - WR - Merkel; Alex Wise - WR - Euless Trinity; Walt Ashley - WR - Del Rio; Michael Taylor - WR - Bangs; Slayde Anderson - OL - Abilene HS; Jon Crisp - OL - Abilene Christian HS; Oscar Hernandez - PK - Abilene HS; Seth Hinnergardt - DE - Bartlesville, OK; Keith Washington - DE - Sachse; Richard Duran - DE - Clear Lake; Kenneth Odina - DE - Clear Falls; Conner Moore - DE - Dublin; Chance Pierce - DE - Bridgeport; Tony Davis - DE - Benton, LA; John J. Bloom - LB - Plano Prince of Peace; Nathan Badillo - LB - Saginaw Boswell; Caleb Cobb - LB - Clarendon; Clabe Holmes - DB - Jersey Village; Kwame Darko-Mensah - DB - Euless Achimota School (I know high schools and I have never heard of this schools before); Aaron Bunting - DB - Ewa Beach, HA, Campbell; Deng Majok - DB - Amarillo Tascosa; Isaiah Mendoza - DB - Balmorhea. Some of these names we have discussed on this board, like Franklin, Ward, Roberson, Moss, Anderson, Crisp. A few others ended up on the list of athletes from the fall with high GPA's (I remember that Bogeyman was befuddled by these names). Some of them did not even make it to the spring semester. But, this exercise is to note that the former coaching staff DID bring in lots of walkons, they simply did not do a very good job of tooting their horn about these walkons. The new staff has already said they will bring in many walkons, so I think we will end up with more like 35 or 40 newcomers on the roster come the fall and I suspect there may be more information provided to us dyed-in-the-wool fans on the walkons than in the past.

I wonder how many of these players are currently on the team. I know Pierce, Bloom, Odina, Roberson, Hinnergardt and Chandler are still on the team. It would help if they would put up a 2017 roster already.

So, it is safe to think that Sema'J is a scholarship recipient or ACU Football would not tweet out about him. And, by extension that the other kids who have "signed" with ACU since signing day must be walkons?
Mavsman, are you going to update the list you have at the beginning of this thread with any scholarship kids who ACU announces after the initial signing day and the walkons who commit to ACU in some semi-formal way as well? That list has been my "go-to" list for ACU football signing - I appreciate you maintaining it.

The front page has been updated. This time of year, it is difficult to follow late signings, but I am following as close as I can.

Nothing official on Jefferson. He has received his release from Baylor and the school he wants to talk to and plans to transfer to is ACU.

I do hope it works out here for Jefferson. It seems he stepped up, took responsibility for himself and did what he needed to. It says a lot about him on top of his talent. Hopefully all the requirements can be worked out. Thanks Mavsman for updating.

Nothing official on Jefferson. He has received his release from Baylor and the school he wants to talk to and plans to transfer to is ACU. Question ? Can he still enroll in classes this late in the Spring for Spring Ball and be eligible or is it a Summer or Fall enrollment?

No he cannot enroll. If a student is not enrolled in the first two weeks, they are no longer able to enroll. The reason is they have already missed too much class time

It appears Bo Lott and Garrett Stephens from Childress have signed. Lott is a 5'6 160 RB and Stephens is a 5'10 165 WR/FS.
