That would certainly be a step. Maybe 4 or 5 more would turn the tide. I've seen a lot of announcements on Twitter of players committing but I haven't been able to research them to check out the quality.

Maybe Baseball should be moved under the forum topic of 'other wildcat sports'

I really wish that each Wildcat sport had its own thread or forum heading. Just easier for me.

Is there any way that Coach Bonneau gets another year?

Is there any way that Coach Bonneau gets another year? Yes... who are you going to get that wants to coach Wildcat baseball as much and will take the salary he makes? Are the results good? No. Will he get one more year? I think so. Will he have to find a new pitching coach? Maybe. Is he frustrated and mad about the season? I'd say yes.

Is there any way that Coach Bonneau gets another year? Yes... who are you going to get that loves Wildcat baseball as much and will take the salary he makes? Coaches aren't retained and compensated based on their 'love' of the team they coach. I think it's more about the money he brings in to the program.

Absolutely! I am just worried. I think that all coaches (that included KC, IMHO) should have at least gotten a pass through the transition. But, with Britt, I hear that the new assistant is tearing it up on the recruiting trail. I think they should at least give him one more full year. Might have to make a pitching coach change, however.

The program is not where it needs to be either in terms of athletic or academic success. The W-L record and the APR scores need to improve. At least the APR is headed the right direction. Maybe the two new pitchers and a new pitching coach can boost the W-L record.
Whatever the reasons, I agree that he will get another year to get things headed the right direction and repeat the success he had at the D2 level.

I think part of this year's record is due to an unusual perfect storm of injuries. But, the point about what he brings to the program is pretty huge. I have been told that he has to raise more than 50% of his own operating budget! Of course, we all know that they are not fully funded for scholarships, and are close to the basement of the conference in terms of baseball scholarships. And, based on what former coaches' salaries were (Elliot Cribby, who was pitching coach here a few years ago, made according to Cribby himself, $14,000 per year), I don't think Britt makes very much.

What are all these injuries that keep being mentioned? Was every injury a starting pitcher? Why is it the pitching coach that only catches heat?

I think the injuries have been cataloged in earlier posts. You are correct, however, that most were not connected to pitching. And, pitching was atrocious. No way around that. All I'm saying is that if he gets a renewal, something has to be done about the pitching.
