Excuse me while i make some purple kool aid. Don’t bogart that purple kool-aid, my friend; pass some over to me! To think of us being in the top 20 anytime soon, you need more than purple kool aid.... You need some Purple Drank from the 90's Houston Rap Scene. Somebody call JaMarcus Russell, he may still have some connections.

I think the real question is who in the 2021 WAC/Atlantic Sun Partnership would ACU realistically expect to beat? Not have a chance but expect to beat. You can rule out SHSU, Jacksonville St, and UCA. Those teams would either be favored against ACU or a toss up. SFA and Tarleton are most likely a toss up as well. I'd say ACU would be favored against Lamar, EKU, and maybe Dixie St. So we either need a few breaks against tougher teams to breakthrough next year or need to actually "take care of business" against lesser teams to be respectable. I'm genuinely curious, who here thinks ACU can actually go, say, 8-4 or make the playoffs next year looking at our temporary conference. Of course non conference games against UTPB, Louisiana College, and SMU need to be taken into account as well.

You hit the nail on the head, Floppy. We could go winless in the WAC. Let’s hope this is not the case.

Floopy, I am reticent to respond to your question, because I frankly know nothing about this team -- spring practice has apparently finished 10 sessions (according to the pinned tweet on ACU football) and there has been next to nothing mentioned on-line about spring footaball -- a couple of still shots, 40 seconds of a mic'd up player, etc. I hope that ACU is cooking up the most potent offense in the history of the school behind that curtain of secrecy. But, I fear that it is masking that we just won't be very good -- like this past year. So, with that preface, I put myself down as expecting ACU to go 3-8 -- we should be able to beat our NAIA opponent who will be offering scholarships for the first time (Louisiana College) and our D-2 opponent who is in the bottom half of the Lone Star Conference (UT-Permian Basin), and possibly split our 2 games with Lamar and we have 3 wins. I plan on attending the spring "game" on April 23 -- that is, if the pinned tweet really is telling the truth. Maybe I will see something at that controlled scrimmage that will make me more positive about this team. I will also take a few minutes to identify which of my season ticket seats I want to retain -- I used to get 6 season tickets and I will get 2 for the 2021 season. I will like to get the 2 seats that literally have my name on them.

It is depressing to me how little football news is coming out. Maybe they just figured they couldn't compete with all of the big basketball news recently but it's like they aren't even making the effort. Further evidence that ACU is a basketball school now I guess.

Further evidence that ACU is a basketball school now I guess. The football secrecy began before Basketball got so hot and heavy. It honestly makes it harder to get interested in the team or the players because there is no interaction. I am hoping to get to the Spring game to at least get a hint of what to expect. For now I am continuing my "proof is in the pudding come September" mode. At this point I can't make any projections because there is nothing to go on and maybe that's the way Dorrel wants it. The bad side effect of that is the losing interest in the meantime part. I don't think we HAVE to become just a basketball school. We can have both excitement and success in both sports (as well as others) but it is going to take a change in culture from both the coaches and the AD.

Amazing there have been no answers to your question... I searched around (I don't use twitter) and think the time is 5:30 pm.

Hmmm. A D3 game. Not a fan. On the other hand, there are six games and the last 4 are tough. IMO, when you make playing at home a priority, you get what you may afford. Sell more tix, get bigger name opponents. As Deep Throat kept saying in “All The President’s Men”, “Follow the money.” While this may be a bit of a stale subject, I agree that home games are a priority, and you get what you may afford. That said, just saw were Nicholls tweet it’s 2021 football schedule featuring two FBS roadies (@ Memphis and @ Louisiana) to start their season. #MoneyBall

I remember, I think it was 1984, when ACU played in Missoula.
