I wonder if Eager is the son of (or kin to) Cecil Eager who was a fine tennis coach at ACU. That young man can hit a baseball. And he was a pretty good tennis player at ACC. I KNOW he had great strength in his arms. He was the "beater" for Sub-T when I was a gob. #blackandblue. Sorry to get off the subject to whoever this offends. 😁

RC, if Colton is related to Cecil then it is very distant kin. Cecil and Judy only have 1 daughter, Chelsea. Cecil has 2 sisters. Cecil is also one of the finest men I know -- evn though he was a Subber. Judy and he own the Gruene Mansion Inn down in New Braunfels -- I have stayed there 3-4 times. It is a terrific b&b.

Big weekend in Nola as winning three of four in the road is huge. More importantly, Wildcats are tied for third with UNO after the first weekends of conference. In other words, like their basketball counterparts, ACU baseball has got it going on! Big series this weekend with Northwestern State at the Crutch! Go Wildcats!! #ATO

I think most of it was coaching.

Good admin beggars good coaching begets good recruiting bets good teams. #ATO

The Cats are up 9-6 in the bottom of the 5th against UTA and a runner on 1st. Let's hope they keep this up and finish strong defensively.

Cats still up 11-8 at the top of the 8th and UTA has runners on 1st and 2nd with one out.
**And just like that we are only up by 1 and still only two outs, but we prevent the tie so far...**

Got a little nervous toward the end. Two judgement errors allowed them to close the gaps. One was playing off the third base line in the late innings with a lead. That led to a double for the Mavs. The other was the pop-up that fell untouched between the third baseman and shortstop. But the great play was the game saving catch in deep center -- that was impressive. These Wildcats can hit the ball, that is for sure. It was great to see the team hang tough and pull out a great win. That Eager kid is a clutch hitter.

Last year, we played the baskets played against Kentucky in The Big Dance year before last. Like in Indianapolis, Texas is going to see a different team this year! Go Wildcats!! Beat TEXAS...AGAIN!!!

Watching the last three games, we clearly need some defensive improvement. We make so many infield miscues it is disheartening. Hard to understand why popups are a challenge for us.

Most of the UT fans took the win the way I thought they would; revenge for the NCAA. At least we a momentary lead right now 1-0.
I would say that Texas has some studs, and that is hard to overcome.
