Does this total count the Covid year? Yes I’m a big of a Kobe Clark fan as anyone. The stats purist in me thinks the record would have an asterisk by it.

Rookie, we must not have seen the same things. From what I saw, the middle section in the upper deck was probably less than half full. Sections on either side not a whole lot better. Really wish that we could get the prime seats filled up. Several players over the past years have told me that it is disappointing for them to look up there and see all of the empty seats. Of course, full prime sections would probably mean a packed out and crowded club area with lines for getting food.

IMO. Best game experience yet by far. Only a few times did the "noise" compete with the PAA. Congrats to whoever brought the changes. More students came and stayed longer probably because they knew that the awards for freshman follies were going to be announced in the second half. Still was good to see a bigger student section and them staying longer. Tailgate gets better every game. Anthony Smith broke his ankle in the first game. He's expected to be back. Both Dobbins and Banks ran really well and really hard. I tease them both that they had lousy coaching in high school because the were not taught to go down when they are hit. Both tough kids and runners and nice guys. I am pretty sure that Long went in for McIvor due to performance, both decision making and execution. Will be interesting to see who starts next game. Reese Young is a player. Great throw and catch for Kobe's TD. The attendance for Saturday's game was 7703, the best crowd of the season so far but we had 3 home games last year with attendance above 8000 and 1 game with over 10,000 fans. The next home game will be Homecoming and that is always the biggest crowd of the year -- probably in the 10k range. That crowd shows up no matter who ACU is playing -- so playing Southern Utah, a team unknown to 99% of ACU alum, will not make any difference. There will then be one other home game in November game and if ACU is still looking pretty good, you can probably look at ACU drawing something in the 7500-8000 range.

Badon also had the benefit of playing in at least 3 playoff games in his career. What Kobe is doing should be celebrated and even considering an asterisk is silly. This is more impressive due to the fact he came to ACU as a walk-on.

When it is all said and done, Kobe will likely have played 8 more games than Coach Badon. We also live in a time that more games are played in other sports. The NFL went from 16 games to 17. So records will be broken. I heard on radio this morning someone say Judge didn't break Maris' record. But there's 8 games left. His point was, when Maris broke the homerun record, teams only played 154 games, not 162. So Maris hit 61 homers in 154 games and Judge hit 60 in 154.
The rule in 2020 wasn't a Kobe decision. Schools had decide if they wanted to play, how many games, fall, spring, or in some cases both. Let's celebrate his accomplishments and a fantastic Wildcat career

Kobe is a really nice, friendly, and humble young man, works hard, and sets a very high standard for himself. He thinks that if he can even barely get a finger that he should catch it. Example was the throw over his head at Mizzou.

Schools had decide if they wanted to play, how many games, fall, spring, or in some cases both. Let's celebrate his accomplishments and a fantastic Wildcat career That is incorrect, when Maris broke the record in 1961, the Yankees record was 109-53, 162 games played. However when Babe Ruth hit 60 home runs in the 1927 season, the Yankees record was 95-59, only 154 games played. So that is why some Ruth fans wanted to put an asterisk on Maris' record. FORD FRICK, the baseball commissioner, ruled rightly when he decreed that no successor to Ruth would be recognized unless he hit 60 or more homers within the 154-game schedule on which the Babe operated. The new 162-game schedule would offer too great a target. Frick has added that any man who surpassed Ruth’s 60 in the added eight games, would have to be content with entry in the record book under an asterisk.

I think that the vast majority of people only know about and remember the older, overweight Babe Ruth. In his younger days he was an outstanding athlete, but could still hit up until he retired. I have heard more than one very knowledgeable baseball person and great players (Hall of Famers) who when ask who was the best player ever say: "I guess that you mean after Babe Ruth?"

I have heard more than one very knowledgeable baseball person and great players (Hall of Famers) who when ask who was the best player ever say: "I guess that you mean after Babe Ruth?" in 1927, here are the top 10 home run hitters 1: Babe Ruth (60) 2: Lou Gehrig (47) 3: Hack Wilson (30) 4: Cy Williams (30) 5: Rogers Hornsby (26) 6: Bill Terry (20) 7: Jim Bottomley (19) 8: Tony Lazzeri (18) 9: Chick Hafey (18) 10: Ken Williams (17) Babe Ruth hit at least twice as many home runs as everyone except for Lou Gehrig. In 1921 here are the 10 top home run hitters 1: Babe Ruth (59) 2: Bob Meusel (24) 3: Ken Williams (24) 4: Tillie Walker (23) 5: High Pockets Kelly (23) 6: Rogers Hornsby (21) 7: Harry Heilmann (19) 8: Cy Williams (18) 9: Austin McHenry (17) 10: Bobby Veach (16) Babe Ruth hit more than twice as many home runs as everyone else in the league. He dominated the home run leaders like no one else.

Example was the throw over his head at Mizzou. Even with all of the quality receivers we added, Kobe still stands out. He is the most consistent at catching anything thrown his way.

I really like this young man. Love what he says about Kobe. Also, very humble Is this an updated version? I tried a few times to watch this several days ago, but couldn't really hear him because the sound of KP's press conference was over-layed on this one, in the background, and you heard both at the same time. Was hoping they had fixed it. **Ok, looks like this was an updated post of the original and the sound was fixed. He is really humble for sure.
