Emma joins Addy and Meredith in the torn ACL club. They’ve both come back playing well.
Best wishes on a strong recovery.

Several news items from SC. Molly Daugherty was voted onto the SC 5A all-state team. Huge honor.
Emma Daugherty has surgery on her torn ACL tomorrow morning.
The Summerville team won its opening playoff game by 20 points last night. They are missing their point guard (Emma) and their 2nd leading scorer (N. Mathews) who was dismissed from the team. So far Molly is taking up the slack for them.

For those of you in the Abilene area: Glen Rose Lady Tigers featuring our 6’4 recruit Aimee Flippen are playing a playoff game at Moody at 6:30. I’m going to get my first look at Aimee in action.

We need a report. Summerville drew the short straw and plays #1 Sumter who is 23-0. They've played 5 of the same opponents. The most recent Ashley Ridge which they beat by 13. Summerville lost twice to AR, the last in OT (the game Emma was hurt). Will be a task. I'll be there.

I went to the Glen Rose vs Levelland playoff game tonight and it was a rout. The Lobos don’t have a player over 5’7 but they are very well coached and played as well as they could. Glen Rose is not a one-girl team. They have a nice roster including Alexis Rynders who has received an offer from ACU. She’s coming off an injury so I probably didn’t see her best but she is a very good shooter and a smooth ball handler. Think of a younger Gracie Wernli As for Aimee, she led the team in scoring. Mostly lobs and rebound/put back. I don’t know how many points she had but I guess around 30. Here’s my amateur scouting report on Flippen. 1. I’m not sure that she is quite 6’4 but she’s a legit 6’3 or slightly more. Since that’s an unofficial eyeball measurement I could be wrong. 2. She has a strong frame that will be stronger after a year in the ACU weight room and fitness program. 3. She has very strong hands. She catches the ball cleanly. She made a couple of very tough catches in traffic that were college level. 4. She’s a good shooter. She even shoots technical foul free throws for the team. Only missed one foul shot. Great form on her shot. Made a couple of shots from mid range. Could be a better than average 3-point shooter in the Goodenough system. 5. Despite her size, she runs the court well and hustles. Works hard on defense. Doesn’t just stand under the basket. 6. She really didn’t show any post moves because the players defending her were a foot shorter. 7. She’s a good passer. Had a couple of inside/ out assists to 3 pt shooters.
Summary. Is not as polished as Meredith was in high school. I think her impact will begin year 2 but I’m not betting against her contributing next year with hard work and good coaching. I think we got a good one.

Summerville down 1 to #1 Sumter at half. Molly is by far the best player on the court. She has 12 points on 3-4 from 3 point line.. our centers have fumbled numerous passes and missed some chippies. We should be up by 10 on this team.

Summerville loses. Molly fouled out as did 3 others while no one on Sumter did. Read what you want into that. 2 point game with 1:45 left in game. Summerville was left with an 8th grader bringing ball down the court.every one back next year. If Emma had been on the court Summerville would have been dominant.

Missed this one the other day, but the staff offered HS Senior Anna Trusty. Trusty is listed at 6'0 and played at Greenwood HS in Arkansas. For her high school career, she scored 1963 points and is the #1 ranked player in the state of Arkansas. She is a 3-time state champ and was MVP of the state tournament this year
