I certainly don't know the reason but it could have been the "glut" of catching prospects in the minor leagues for each team. The question about Trevino that was bandied about was about the strength of his throwing arm after the Tommy John surgery last year (that ACU fans never heard about).

If I was going to wager a guess, I think the pros see Trevino as a good college hitter without a position. He has been a serviceable defensive catcher - not a liability for sure - but not great or even very good. He can improve under minor league tutelage but his window is fairly short. Or he can hit so well that they have to find a place for him.
