I have a lot of confidence in President Schubert. Who knows what can be worked out? That is a challenge for the university. But is is clearly the time of another denouement and we have been getting through several of these lately. ACU has steadily climbed the ladder of better and better excellence and now is a yet another challenge as we continue the climb.
As long as we continue to gain traction upward, I am pleased. I look around and see universities all over the map as their identities are challenged. Some answer the challenge and others tend to stagnate or decline. What gives me a lot of encouragement is we have the leadership to answer the challenges of continuing our upward trajectory. Not everyone is aware of the amazing transition ACU is making, not only into the WAC but all around the campus, to a national university of note and greater value and esteem. US News and World Reports does, DOE does, the NCAA does, as do many others. It is a very exciting time. As long as the path continues upward and forward, we should all be celebrating. We can and do play with the big boys and our students gain great value from this. It really is amazing! We might not be able to do this in every area, but when ACU shows up, we need to be first class. This means we must reward merit.
I hope we can retain Joe, he is a wonderful person and coach. The team culture is great. But if not, I hope we continue to improve no matter the challenges. I think Schubert has shown good judgement and I have a lot of confidence he and the university will continue to do so. As has been pointed out, just look at the advances all over the campus. It is hard to maintain such upward momentum but facing the challenges and finding the solutions is what defines our next stages. I am so happy to have lived to see how far we have come. It is a grand time for Wildcats.

I want Joe to stick around and continue to build a legacy. I also want us to continue to grow and tackle any challange that comes our way.

Gayman commits to Drury University with his brother who transferred from another university. Division 2 closer to home.

I wish Clay Gayman all the best in his time at Drury - I think he will have 2 seasons to play there due to this year being a redshirt year for all athletes if they choose to take it. It will be very special to play on a team with his brother.
Another factor that appears to play into this decision. If you will remember, Clay's dad popped on the board several months ago and posted that Clay should be playing much more because he was "the best player on the team" and should not be giving up minutes to lesser players. I think that is a comment that Clay has been bombarded with for the past few years. At D-II Drury, he WILL more than likely be the best player on his team and he will be playing 30-35 minutes a game. I have wondered since his announcement if the comments during the UCLA game from the commentator saying that Clay was "ACU's biggest defensive liability" did not sit well with Clay or his family as well.

Best wishes to Clay...he's close to home and can play 2 years with his brother. He should do very well there. One thing Clay's dad told me when he was signed was that Clay gave a 100% all the time. In my opinion, Clay gave everything he had as a Wildcat and was a valuable rotation player. Can't blame a dad for hyping his son.

Speculation on UTEP board is that Golding is the guy.

Not sure why they should hire Sadler over Jans, Joe, or Tang.

I think Tang is the best candidate with all respect to Joe.

I think they go with Doc Sadler One of the posters on their board is saying two of UTEpP’s biggest donors want Sadler and are willing to cough up big bucks for facility development if they hire him.
