And Coach Blocker did not last long. He is now at Tennessee as a grad assistant

Kyle Blocker, formerly a grad assistant at UNT, has been added at our grad assistant WR Coach. This has been in the works for awhile Come and gone in the same month! Makes Grant McCasland's tenure at ACU look rather long (4 months)

Coach Klieman has left and gone back to Kansas St. I was always a bit surprised he came to ACU in the first place, knowing his dad was the HC at Kansas St.
In his place, ACU has added Darian Lindsey, previously and assistant coach at A&M Commerce

I hesitated to say anything because I didn't know if this kind of turnover in staff is normal in college football. We sure seem to have a lot.

I don't want to speculate but it is unsettling to churn through coaches when they are the ones choosing to leave.

Well, lower assistants don’t make much $$. It’s likely financial or on one case family oriented.

Welcome Kelly Masker to the staff:

This is a very, very important role for ACU -- I don't think we have had anyone in that formal role and having a full-time recruiting coordinator could be a big boon to the program. And, I hope that Kelly Masker is the perfect person for the role and turns things around for our recruiting. BUT, I am still worried about this hire. Kelly got her undergrad at Kutztown State and her MA from West Virginia. She has worked as the Director of FB Operations at D-2 California of Pennsylvania for 7 months and as Asst Director for FB Recruiting Operations at Eastern Kentucky for 11 months. All of her experiences have been east (far, far east) of the Mississippi River. This is just as ACU is turning its attention to the western U.S. Does she have any connections with coaches in the state of Texas?
Again, I hope that Kelly ends up being a fantastic addition, but on the face of things, it seems like a very strange hire.

This hire baffles me on many levels. What are her responsibilities?

If I had to guess, and this is only a guess, this is a mixture of what Coach Klieman and what Becky Brown was doing.
Coach Klieman was a position coach, but he was also the main guy looking at film of 2022 prospects. So what is her role?
1. Getting film of prospects to our perspective coaches 2. Getting transcripts from prospects, making sure they are in good academic standing 3. Setting up recruiting visits
I'm sure there is more to it than that, but that is a start of what she will do

To borrow a line from the Broadway classic The Music Man, “...ya gotta know the territory” to be successful.

The Director of Recruiting Operations seems like more of an administrative role at most schools. I’m not worried if she doesn’t know many coaches in the area.
