If the play from last week continues, John David Baker should be head coach next season. I’m not sure we could afford him. I’m sure some donors will “pony up” the money after this game

Great stop. Barely held them on 4th and 1 from the 6 yard line.

I believe win or lose this game, there needs to be a coaching change immediately. We keep performing worse and worse. Whether it is the players fault or the coaches fault, we need a change. As the sayingoes, "you can't fire all the players." There is no fire in this group. There continues to be massive defensive breakdowns and no offensive creativity. A dismal showing that is making a talent challenged Lamar team look good. I’ve looked at your posts on this board, volleyball board, soccer board and others. Never a positive word, always negative. You must be a miserable person. In bogeyman's defense, this team is hard to find many positives. Lamar is not good but we are letting them hang with us. Hopefully we can put them away but that still won't mean it has been a good day.

Mansell is playing at a high level. How's that for a positive statement. Oops, a fumble.

UCA is leading EKU 28-10 at halftime. UCA may be a playoff team.

I don't think Coach Dorrel can survive a loss this week, no matter how the rest of the season goes. I do not think there will be a coaching change during the season, however. I agree. Let the season play out and evaluate performance based on the whole body of work.

I am very impressed with Davion Johnson's playing this afternoon. 5 receptions for 76 yards and he is difficult to tackle when he has the ball.

Well that should do it. I'll take the win.

Glad for the win. Mansell played well. Johnson played well. White ran hard and made several very good plays. Kier played well. Stapp played well. Not sure who took Simmons place after his injury. Could be a damaging blow to an OL starting to make an identity. Zepeda made a timely FG. Burke punted well again as he has all season. The rest next week comes at a good time. Maybe we'll get some players back and gives Mansell 2 weeks to settle in to the starters role. Go Cats.

I'll take the win but dread the rest of the season. Not a very impressive performance after the players and coaches were supposedly so disappointed after last week's play. I didn't see a high level of energy. We were lucky that Lamar is a bad team. Yes, it hurt that we lost our starting QB but we didn't look good even before that.

Let's compare rate of improvement. Lamar improved a lot. ACU did not show improvement. We open the game and score, then hold them and get a punt to our 30. Seems to me that we get a few first downs and bingo, we have put our stamp on the game. But we run a blah play into the line and then try a deep pass that goes incomplete, and then... of well, let's punt back to Lamar and not bother to emphatically put our stamp of superiority on the game. That was the early time in the contest when I knew it was going to be a battle and at best a hoped for win. Fortunately we held on a critical fourth down at our six (or so) and found a way to make it home for a win. It was a fight. Oh, I enjoyed the crowd and festivities.

We won, that's my positive comment. A few good plays here and there, but over-all we broke down again on defense and simply no really good offense to speak of schematically. Peyton is our QB for the rest of the season. I liked how he stepped up, but his passing is off. He will need to fix that. The grind part of the season is here and we need to stay healthy. I'll end in that the team finally got into it a little towards the end when they saw us closing up the game. Where was it the 2nd and 3rd quarter?

Simmons had a cramp and went back into the game a couple plays later. He is fine

I know Mansell is great in the running game but he needs to step up in the passing game. Hopefully a few weeks preparing as the starter will improve his passing game.
