Is there a football game this week? Any word on injuries? Lutz, Stafford, Brannon, Kier, Morgan--others?

Brannon has broken bone in his foot, was in a shoe earlier. Did not participate in the EKU game.

On another thread, it was stated that Massey has this game as 34-21, ACU. This would appear to be a pretty accurate prediction based on the past few weeks.
I don't know that Lamar can score 3 TD's against ACU, so I will lean more toward a 31-14 score -- that would be the 4th win of the season for the Wildcats and that would already be a better win total than I expected.

I'm having a hard time generating any enthusiasm for this weeks game. Somebody help with some game thoughts. Did Dorrel have his usual Wed. press conference? Thinking about the last game vs. Lamar, I just can't see them doing much in the passing game. Can we still stop their run game with the personnel we have left?

I think there will be a pretty good crowd at the game - Homecoming reunion attendee numbers are looking really good. Now, it will be interesting how many Homecoming attendees will make their way to the far end of the campus. I know several of my peers who are coming in as early as Thursday evening for dinners, but are planning on leaving after reunion lunches -- not staying for the game. The game time has been pushed back to 3 p.m., which is s good thing because the reunion "dinners" have all become lunches now. If enough people stay over until the game, the crowd should be good -- at least until halftime. What does a good attendance look like this year? If we reach 10,000, I would imagine athletics will be thrilled.

Good to hear Coach Dorrel's take here. Thanks for posting.
Sam had two early sacks and two interceptions on Lamar's first three possessions leading to a QB change for the Cardinals. Though the score was "close," once Lamar missed a FG attempt (after a 10 play drive) early in the second quarter, Sam tacked on another TD to go up 20-0.
I think it will be key to not allow the Cardinals to build any confidence early in the game. If we come in, play clean, and execute early, the Homecoming fans will be pleased.

Probably true. Lucky for ACU Texas and A&M both play early. No one should be rushing home to watch TCU / OU. But ...

And they will all leave at halftime I hope if they are leaving at halftime , it is because ACU has built up a big lead.

Appreciate Coach Dorrel “owning” the uniform incident. Likewise, agree that it did not impact game's outcome. I see Lamar as both a “bounce-back” and “trap” game, as team must approach as if the win In Beaumont never occurred while into its only bye week on a positive. This is particularly true, IMO, given it’s Homecoming and, therefore, in a lot of instances, the only time they’ll be seen this year. Consequently, do these particular eyes see a program on the upswing, or, otherwise. This will be particularly true of those who saw the SMU game. Lastly, while two conference losses may define this year’s postseason prospects, the last four games will go a very long way in setting the program’s long-term trajectory. Recruiting is the lifeblood of college athletics, and how a team finishes on the field heavily influences recruits “buy in”. Lord willin’, I’ll be back in Section 206 for the Tarleton game. Here’s hoping to be there to watch a team on a three-game win streak! Go Wildcats!! Finish!

Evan from KTXS, does Coach Dorrel, or, any ACU coaches, ever bring players to press conferences? If not, is it due to his preference, or, because it’s never been asked? Just curious. Go Wildcats!!

Players last came to a presser in 2019. Last year could've been COVID precautionary, but the pressers are at 11 a.m. which I believe is the same time as chapel.
