We hardly pressured the quarterback. That was surprising. He had time to look around the field and find wide open receivers.

We won, that's my positive comment. A few good plays here and there, but over-all we broke down again on defense and simply no really good offense to speak of schematically. Peyton is our QB for the rest of the season. I liked how he stepped up, but his passing is off. He will need to fix that. The grind part of the season is here and we need to stay healthy. I'll end in that the team finally got into it a little towards the end when they saw us closing up the game. Where was it the 2nd and 3rd quarter? Has it been confirmed what happened to Earle's leg. I know Mansell is great in the running game but he needs to step up in the passing game. Hopefully a few weeks preparing as the starter will improve his passing game. Unless something changes, I am going with yes, Peyton is our QB now. Stone made a great pass before he got hit and has a good head on his shoulders.

They studied and prepared well. They clearly improved. I thought they made one serious offensive mistake. They were moving and had third and about one and they ran a slowly developing run fake and drop back and ACU sacked the QB forcing a punt -- that and the fourth down stand were the key plays made by the Wildcat defense in my opinion. Had they just made a first down, they might have moved on down for a TD or FG. For the most part the ACU run defense was relatively better than their pass defense.

EKU came back and defeated UCA 38-35. UCA blew a 18 point halftime lead. There are a bunch of teams just behind Sam Houston in the AQ7, (SFA, EKU, Jacksonville St, and UCA) ACU, Tarleton St are next and Lamar is at the bottom of the league. At least that is my opinion. I still think we have a chance to beat SFA and Jacksonville St. and I think we are better than Tarleton St. Sam Houston St. will probably go undeated in AQ7.

UCA is leading EKU 28-10 at halftime. UCA may be a playoff team. Oops

Fractured Fibula I believe. If true then yes, that’ll end his season.

Besides playing too far off on our pass defense, I thought we were slow to the ball on the run defense in several areas and their OL was able to create holes better this game. I agree that we didn't get the pass rush we should have.

Yes, Peyton is our QB and we are fortunate to have him but he over-threw two passes to the man in motion, throwing over his head both times. When he get that settled down, he will be a good quarterback. He sure is a fine runner, but he cost us once when he took a slide too short of the first down marker, which I think eventually led to a third and 28 (due to two holding penalties) instead of a first down deep in Lamar's end. Thankfully we got back about half of it and kicked the last points of the game with a FG.

Just saw this, it makes our loss to them a little more bearable... I don't see us beating SFA, JSU or SHSU; maybe Tarleton. We will see how we adjust with Peyton.

UCA is leading EKU 28-10 at halftime. UCA may be a playoff team. Oops EKU scored the last 25 points of the game, coming back EKU by almost 150 yards during the game. 22 down. I was keeping an eye on the game and UCA seemed to clearly be the better team until the middle of the 3rd quarter. UGA outgained UCA by almost 150 yds in the game.

Without major improvements on both sides of the ball, we MIGHT beat Tarleton but I don't see us beating SFA or Jacksonville. I just didn't see any signs of a team hungry to win. Very disappointed in today's game even if we did get the win. I was fairly optimistic earlier in the season but am losing that optimism quickly.

I agree we will definitely not be favored, but we have the potential to beat SFA or Jacksonville St if we play our best game. I am guessing our final record will be 5-6.
