Hopefully we can throw a few wrenches... A key game for that will be the conference game against SFA on Nov. 19th. Beating Sam on the way out would also be a great memory. Here's to hoping the pieces all fall into place.

Here's to hoping the pieces all fall into place. With our conference schedule we have a shot at going undefeated in WAC play (first SFA game is considered non conference), 2 home and two away games. @ Utah Tech Vs Southern Utah @ Tarleton State Vs SFA (second game).

Anxious to see if the returners mentioned (Washington, Anderson, Williams, Egbo) have truly upped their game. I certainly think they can be and think with the additions we should be much, much better as a unit. Excited to see Egbo get a chance, he's been a leader for a while. Like that a true freshman was mentioned (Ramsey). Will be interesting to see how Haskins, Jolly and Thursby are used. I've always thought it was dangerous to compare ourselves with ourselves and use that to determine how we'll do vs others. In Tech's case there were some truly great athletes on both sides of the ball (receivers and defenders) so if Wilson is seeing that same degree of talent and ability with the receivers and defenders we have then I am truly enthused. I was happy when Wilson became our DB coach because of his credentials and experience at the very top of college football (and professional) and if we up our performance levels at the DB position I'm willing to give him a whole lot of credit.

So we will have a separate report for Outside Linebackers?

The WR position preview is up. I have truly enjoyed all of the previews and this one may be my favorite one yet. I love having Coach Thrash back on campus -- the guy was always very upbeat in his first stint at ACU. I have liked each of the previews because they all bring up LOTS of names -- not just the top 1-2 guys. Thrash mentions 10 receivers total and says something about each of them. And, he states that there is not a lot of drop off from 1-10. I do think that Tristan Golightly has been the one who has stood out the most, judging from Thrash's statement that he thinks he might be an All-America.
There are still several positions groups to go - offensive line, defensive tackles, tight ends/fullbacks and QB's. Should see them in the next few days, because Wednesday and/or Thursday release will concentrate on the Lamar game.
Reading these position reports is getting me more and more excited about the season!

Wow -- I barely got my post made about the WR position and the TE position preview comes out -- less than 2 hours after the previous one. I will need to curtail my long-winded responses in order to not miss the next position preview.
Another great position review for the tight ends. Seven names mentioned and it certainly appears that Colt Cooper leads the way, but there are a lot of talent at TE the coaches will have to find a way to get onto the field. One big question I have - in the past ACU has used a tight end and often a fullback, but rarely if ever both on the field at one time. Rece Stafford has played a lot at that fullback spot. In the scrimmage almost 2 weeks ago, but we ever have someone line up at the "traditional" fullback spot in the backfield?
Also, glad to see Noah Caldwell getting a good report. I really enjoyed watching him get the ball last year -- he is BIG and I like seeing him rumble.
