After 3 holes we've maintained our 5 shot lead. CBU is playing the best of the top 3 teams and has moved from 4th to T2.

Martin bogeys 3 holes in a row to shoot 42 (+6) on the front. We still have a 2 shot lead but Martin and Han are not playing well.

At the end of 9 holes we are in a tie with GCU and only 1 ahead of Seattle. Honea has extended her individual back to 5 shots. We need to steady our ship to win this.

I am really surprised we lost on the final day and that Seattle came up to win, but no one can say that we didn't have a successful first season.

Seattle made up a of strokes to win. 12 or so. Where's Delaney? Seems that her productivity fell off at year's end. Honea really came on, however.

I'm really bummed about yesterday's result. We had the best team there. Delaney's "disappearance" was troubling but not the only reason we fell short. So proud of Ryann Honea and her win and also Kate Pickrell really elevated her play at the end of the year. I texted coach Bennett and of course he is pretty disappointed that we didn't win. The bar has been set pretty high for this program. If everyone comes back, this group has the potential to be very, very good next year. And we're adding some real quality next year. My heartfelt thanks to Delaney and Ryann for taking the risk of transferring from established programs to lead a first year team. The footprints they've left for following teams are huge--and Ryann has the chance to make hers even larger with the regional invite and more years in the program. It was a great year. Looking forward to many more.

No. She will finish school and begin preparing to turn pro. She has the tools but lacks some belief in herself. I still think something else was troubling her at the end of the season but don't know for sure. I wish her the best.

Delighted that Ryann Honea gets to play in the A&M regional. Tough competition but getting to play a familiar course that matches the terrain you are used to and grass you are used to is a plus. I'm hoping she acquits herself well and brings some notice to ACU Women's Golf.

I'm not finding a lot of info on ACU's three freshmen recruits but state tourneys I think happen next week. Alamo Heights is a traditional power in 5A (Julia Vollmer) so they could be at state. I watched some old video of Vollmer and Jasmine Do (Cypress Bridgeland HS) playing as partners and Do seems to be a great putter. She also currently has passed Vollmer as the highest ranked of our recruits. I've found even less about Marisa Loya. With our 5 returners (if all return) we'll have 8 on next year's team unless we have a transfer come in. I think coach Bennett told me that 8-9 players was his ideal. We should be really strong next year.
