Just heard that several outlets are reporting that UCLA and USC will jump to the Big 10 as early as 2024! Wow, lots more realignment changes coming.

Yep and the Pac 12 is about to be no more.

The last time a realignment tsunami struck was when Texas and OU announced they were moving to the SEC. That set in motion a chain of events that resulted in Sam Houston and NMSU being snatched up by CUSA. Should we be worried here?

The Pac12 just became an ordinary or middling conference. Not sure some other member schools will be too happy trying to find suitable replacements, so what will they do???

That is a good prediction. No doubt the PAC will be on the prowl or it will shrivel. WCC is not quite there with candidates in my opinion. Will all this create WAC opportunity from the blown up pieces?
BTW, it was really moving to see my old coach's name on our new Moody court. Dee Nutt was a special coach.

The Pac-12 used to be the Pac-10, so they could go right back to that. IF they choose to poach, they could poach a couple from the Big Sky or Mountain West, although not sure of the likelihood of that happening. There isn't anyone worth poaching from the current WAC, so not sure if WAC would gain anything unless there is some shake-up, or domino effects, with the Big Sky. I don't think WCC institutions would be as much of an interest, unless BYU and USD football is inviting enough; nah, maybe BYU. Now, maybe if they poached someone like BYU from the WCC and San Diego from the MW, then dominos could fall in both the Big Sky and WCC that could help the WAC. The only reason I would say SD, over others, in the MW is that the PAC-12 would want to remain closer to the actual Pacific. I could be wrong. I am still skeptical of the WAC benefiting much here because the eastern WAC schools, like us, simply don't offer enough Olympic sports to entice the Western schools that do. I could be completely wrong.

The PAC 12 is dead, and we're one day closer to the realization of a CFB superleague that operates independently of the NCAA.

So many questions now. Oregon-Oregon State??? They are huge rivals. And what about the Rose Bowl? My guess is a big northern conference and a big south conference. Right now that is the big 10* and the big 12 & SEC. Can there be a big West? Who knows.

The PAC isn’t going to invite a non football school to join. BYU is joining the Big XII. San Diego is non scholarship.

Correct, and doubt the PAC 12 would really invite them, but just looking at various options and availabilities. The Pac 10 used to be a formidable conference but seems to be becoming less relevant as the years go on. Whether it is dead or not I don't know. Will all of this create enough dominos to benefit the WAC? I am not sure of that either.

With every school for itself, I'm now especially curious what Phil Knight and Nike will do for Oregon. I really can't see the PAC 12 trying to stay afloat by poaching teams from the Mountain West similar to what the Big 12 did to the American. And as it currently projects we're down to a P3 (Big10+, ACC and SEC) and a Group of 7.

I'd assume that the Big 12 push hard over the next 48 hours to bring on Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon, and either Colorado/Oregon State. They could really solidify themselves then with having the other newcomers coming in soon.

This leaves some excellent schools in the league — Stanford, Cal, Utah, Colorado, the Arizonas, the Washingtons, and the Oregons. I think this is a more stable group than the Big 12. The teams that should worry are TCU, Baylor, Houston, BYU. Maybe Tech. All the other teams are big flagship schools.
