Not a great start for the Wildcats in the team score. Everyone has played at least nine, and we are +14. Louisville is sitting in the lead at -12, and we are in next-to-last (20th) place. Buisson leads us with +2. Diomede, Lewis and Comegys are all +4 and Hoyeau is +5. Twenty-four players are even or below part at this point, Buisson is T54 individually.

This is becoming inexplicable. What is going on with the golf team???

We are playing 3 freshmen every week and two of them are experiencing American golf for the 1st time plus we are playing without our #1 player (off his game or injured or...). I think this was to be expected this early in the season. As it warms up and we get more experience we'll be OK. Maybe not conference champs this year but OK. Patience my friends. My question is: why aren't Heusel and Grigsby playing better? They should be playing #1 and #2 yet neither has been able to qualify for the top 6 for two tourneys in a row. With them playing quality golf we could be very good. But alas, where are they?

Golfstat is all fouled up. Shows we shot +16 but also shows only one player finished his round. Maybe it will straighten out in a while.

I surely hope they come around to their potential.

We have fallen to last place (21st). We finished the day at +34 with No. 36 Louisville in the lead at -16. No. 17 Kansas State is second (-4) and No. 14 Tennessee (-2) is third. At one time when I looked this afternoon, we were up to No. 17, but then we fell.
Still six holes to go, some five, but Golfstat is either missing some holes or they are playing out of order or something. It's acting weird as Bogey said earlier.

Nothing more to say--it was a dreadful day. Finish the day in 19th place. We are 35 shots behind Sam Houston. ARRRG!!!

Little better day but still not very good. We finish in 19th place. Looks like a long season ahead. My expectations for the next two tourneys (Mississippi St and Ohio St) are very low. Hopefully we can build a little momentum going into conference. Looks like the best we could hope for is a top 6th or 7th in conference.

Cats playing in Mossy Oak Classic today and tomorrow. This is an 18 team (huge) field hosted by Mississippi State. Six SEC schools are represented so it will be a real challenge. In my estimation ACU will field it's strongest team of the spring with Heusel, Buisson, Diomede, Hoyeau and Jackson. Still waiting on Grigsby to get his game on line. A top 10 finish would be a huge accomplishment. The start has been delayed for a couple of hours due to weather related course conditions. Start time 10 a.m. central.

Glad I'm playing right now so I can't watch us too much on golfstat. Cats in last place.

Unbelieveable... just about half way through first round and we are 19 shots behind the leader. What has happened to golf???
And as play was stopped today, we only trailed the leaders by 43 strokes.

We finished in last place after the first two rounds of the Mossy Oak Collegiate. We are 58 strokes behind the leader No. 4 Auburn (-33) at plus-25. The 17th place team is 12 strokes ahead at plus-13. Lamar is at +4. Buisson, Diomede and Hoyeau all finished +2 as Jackson (+5) and Huesel (+9) finished round one. Round two was led by Buisson at even, Heusel (+4), Diomede (+5), Hoyeau (+5) and Jackson (+7). Of course, Huesel and Jackson's scores didn't count in round one and two, respectively.
What will Buisson's +2 get him? Tied for 67th place with a handful of other players. The other players occupy four of the last 12 spots (two tied at 88, one at 98 and one at 99 out of 100).

If you take our best round each day and give it to all four of our players, we would finish at 885. That would be one shot better than next to last place. I just don't have a clue as to why we don't do better. This is a mystery.

The sky is not falling, the days are just a little gray right now. Someone has said "the rise to the top is not the hardest, staying at the top is harder!" We experienced the top last year (unexpectedly because of our placement in prior tourneys) but we graduated 3 battle tested seniors. Now we are overloaded with freshmen who have a world of talent but haven't put it all together yet. Be patient my friends and see what comes next for this program. I'm sure coach Shaw is reevaluating lots of things right now.

I hope you are right Bogeyman. Golf is a long love of mine and so is ACU. Winning conference last year was joyful. This year is like having the yips. Starting a new tourney is more than a little scary. Time to shed the yips.
