The banana pudding was a bit disappointing. Thursday was my first time having the banana pudding in the press box, and it made me puzzled why y’all rave about it. Hopefully it was just an off night.

Honestly, the pudding has always been ok. It just represents the whole experience and the excitement for the team and the game as much as anything else.

Evan, truthfully, my wife's banana pudding is a thousand times better than the Chartwells pudding. As Outsider stated - it is more about the game experience and "banana pudding" just has a better sound to it than most other desserts and it made the point more clearly.
My big surprise at the game is how good the BBQ was -- that brisket was FAR better than I expected from an institutional provider.

YBP, you forgot loud music drowning out the band and fight song as the team was running onto the field at the beginning of the game. It all looked very amateurish. You’re right. I certainly hope this issue is corrected this week.

The constant, annoying, aggravating, loud, repulsive "music" that someone thinks needs to be blared through the speakers between every play (and at other times as well) is such a negative that it literally makes me want to leave the game to get away from it. Whose idea is this? Who thinks it serves some positive purpose? Who wants it? Who likes it? We don't deserve to be bombarded with this crap. I can't speak for anyone else but, for me, I don't make a donation, buy season tickets, and drive 200 miles to every home game to be subjected to auduble torture. I come to support and encourage the guys, support the school, enjoy the fellowship with other fans and the parents of some of the players, and watch a football game. I hope that someone can get this stopped.

I thought the announcer actually cost us a motion penalty when we were calling snap signals. He yelled out in sync with the QB's signals but spoke just prior to the snap, and we moved. There should not be blaring speaker noise when the play is trying to start. Serveral times both QBs were trying to direct their team and the loudspeakers were drowing them out. That is very amaturish and disappointing. Crowd noise is one thing, but the power of the stadium speakers is quite a different matter. Oh, the banna pudding was pretty tasteless.

I don’t want to pile on here, BUT, quite the opposite was the problem on the TV broadcast. Dead silence except for the color commentators. No crowd noise, no band, nothing.

I actually thought they had improved the audio/visuals in both the pregame and the during the game. They do need to clean it up just a bit for when plays are beginning, but it was improved over-all as a means to lively up the game. I get that it can be disruptive to some, but we need to keep the game engaging and interactive with the crow, especially the students. The new kid they had introducing and overseeing the student activities during the game was great. They just need to time the music and his microphone better and adjust his sound a little. The intro for the team running into the stadium was much improved with Queen's "We Will Rock You" It started and got the students and crowed up and involved. The band should be playing along with it and then wouldn't worry about being drowned out. Having the team high-five the students was a nice addition as well. They will never make everyone happy. Still, I appreciate them doing what they can to bring new fans in. That includes coming whether or not I like a particular song they play or doing something I would not have chosen. My idea for a team entrance was actually to utilize Metallica's "For whom The Bell Tolls" intro, starting with bells from the bell tower signaling the intro of the song and crowd chant and culminating with the team running out. We will rock you works though. It got the crowd riled up. Also, the flashing lights to start the 2nd half was brilliant. The team was jumping up and down and pumped... I also agree the BBQ was decent, Not the Shed or Jay's, but not bad for who made it. They are trying new things to improve the crowds and I am not about to threaten to stop going and take us in the opposite direction just because I don't like something.

It was the best Division 1 atmosphere we have experienced since coming to ACU. The students were great and cheered, the music was great because they played at the right time and made noise when there should be noise in a game. Even got the crowd into it more than any game last year. It was more comparable to the big schools and big game environment. They did an excellent job.

No kid wants to come play for a silent crowd. I’m not sure if the fans realize what an influence game environment can have on players and recruits. I think they are trying to improve the game environment and did a great job.

The annoying thing to me on the TV broadcast was the WAC graphic that would flash before every replay. It often seemed to cover up the actual replay. That and the sound would often not start until 30 seconds into a video. And I'm already tired of the ACU online TV commercials since there are only 5 or 6 of them and they are shown 4 or 5 times a game each.

Do people really come to a football game to hear loud "music" after every play? Someone would have to prove that to me. From experience I can assure that UT, Arkansas, Texas A & M, LSU, Ole Miss, Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, Florida State, Clemson, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, Iowa, Oklahoma, USC, etc. don't need it. Neither do all of the professional teams. They have been filing huge stadiums for decades without it. Some people like the game of football. Others couldn't care less. As for the students, if they like it so much, why don't they come to hear it? Has anyone looked over to the student section from the beginning until the end of the games. It darn sure doesn't keep those that do come there. I just don't get it and it obviously ain't working. I personally know of some adults who leave the games early because they have had all of this that they can stand. I would bet that not one single person who reads this blog is influenced in any way to come the games by this constant noise. Maybe it even keeps the crowd from getting more involved in the game and cheering for the team. Probably not. After all, other teams have fans, ACU has observers.

Have to agree with Footballmama here. We want a D1 environment, then get used to loud music and what not. Was at P5 game last night and guess what? Loud music blaring right up until the snap in most cases, and most of it was current hip-hop/rap that I don't like, but that is what a D1 environment is right now. I get we aren't a P5 by any means of course, but we still recruit. Having a damn good D1 game day atmosphere is something we can and should create because it will give us an advantage. I'm willing to bet we have the BEST gameday atmosphere in stadium out of the entire WAC, and it's good to see they are still trying to improve.

Just don't interfer with the game and signals.
